I have a stock rubi 2.0l with aftermarket bumper and side steps only. I don’t have a heavy foot and drive like an average person, but after 2k miles I’m at 13.1mpg!!! Idk why it’s so low. Can it be a possibility something is wrong? Maybe some kind of fuel leak? Just doesn’t seem right.
A fuel leak, not likely.

It’s more likely environmental (temperature) and potentially the fuel. Many major metropolitan areas require the use of “winter blend” fuel which never seems to provide the same MPG’s as summer gas.

Another likely culprit could be auto-climate control. If your Jeep came equipped with that option and you use it regularly it will negatively impact your mileage due to it cycling through and engaging the a/c compressor from time to time. I first learned about that unintended side effect with my wife’s Honda Accord years ago. I was reminded of this on my JK which had auto-climate as well as on my JL which also has it.

If your Jeep has auto-climate, try not using the auto feature for a week or two to see if you notice any difference. On my JK I would notice up to a 2-3 mpg swing at times.

Just curious what you Rubicon drivers are getting for average MPG? I was driving between San Francisco and Oakland yesterday and averaging 16.1mpg. Stock Rubi.
Sounds about like mine. same same.

On level ground, going 65 mph, you should be getting close to 20 mpg +/- a handful of miles. IMO. An aftermarket bumper can change the barndoor aerodynamics of your Jeep, but 13 mpg is like off the scale unless you're a leadfoot and we're talking town driving.

That’s what I’m saying. I drive mostly city and like I said I don’t have a heavy foot. I also use 93 gas so I’m really concerned why I’m all the way down to 13!?

Stock JLUR with 3.6 auto was at 13-14 MPG

Haven't rested since it has been modified.

All I can say is in my experience so far the MPG stinks.

I had multiple, very heavy, JKU with 38-40 inch tires, 5.13 gears etc and they got 15-16 MPG.

My JL stock got consistently 18-20 before modding, but it's also a manual and the fastest I ran on the highway was 8-9mph over. I haven't checked mine since modding, but I might check it out of curiosity now.

I thought I remember reading about someone who had a bad eTorque component and was getting bad MPG? I would bring it into the dealer to get it checked out.

It seems some get pretty good MPG while others get horrible MPG.

I just filled up so I am going to hand calculate at the end of this tank.

Stock JLUR was getting 18.5-20.5 consistently. Put some 35’s on a couple weeeks ago 17.5 right now. She’s getting the mopar lift today - so i’ll Prob be sitting at 15-16 (2.0L engine)

I have been getting really good milage on mine-for the most part. Half of my commute is city and half is highway and I am averaging 21-22 mpg. I just got back from a trip to Vermont which was much less stop and go but I was averaging over 26 mpg. Of course I was in that sweet spot of driving around 50-60 mph on back country roads. I've been real happy with it so far. My wife took this picture right after I filled up and before I reset it to track the updated milage.

Just about 3000 miles and 16.9 mpg. Stock JLUR 3.6 Auto 60/40 around town/highway. Not sure how you folks do so much better. Was hoping for 18 anyway. Anything over 65 and the mpg sinks fast. I'm guessing 55-60 hwy is the sweet spot.

:jk:I’m getting about 16.5 mpg with my fancy 2.0 liter 4cylinder turbo mild hybrid on 35s lol. Could have something to do with the fact that I keep my foot to the floor in most situations:rock: love the torque though!

2.0 87 octane. I have actually gotten 25.5 on a straight highway trip for 160 miles before this speed was 60-65
