Im at 15.5mpg after 4000 miles JLUR 3.6 Manual
Now I feel better. I’m averaging 14.5 mpg. Highway most of the time but between 75-80 mph. The cold weather seems to have a negative impact as well.
I keep reading crazy posts about 20+ mpg. Good for them. I’m in a different bracket altogether :surprised:

I think it’s the manual. I have a sport but at 75 in 5th I was around 14.3 and in 6th, way under 14, plus I was having to downshift a lot. This was a four hour drive from south Florida to Central Florida on the turnpike with no traffic. The roads are pretty flat but the slightest incline makes 6th useless, unless you are 85 plus; makes no sense.

The only reason you’re in a different bracket is because you know how to do math. People who are getting 20+ mpg are the ones going down the highway at 55mph or they are caught in an MC Escher print and constantly going down hill without having to go uphill.

My '18 JLUR (3.6, auto) just turned over 2000 miles and is still on stock 33 wheels, tires and suspension. I've been averaging 14-15 mpg with primarily stop/go city driving. We recently did a 400 mile roundtrip over the Cascade Mtns to central Oregon for Thanksgiving, which is a combination of Interstate driving at 70 mph and winding, 2-lane highway driving at 55-65. I got ~18.5 mpg on the trip over (gaining a net 3500 ft in elevation including a major mountain pass and quite a bit of wind and rain), and got ~23.5 mpg on the way back (no doubt the benefit of going back from 4000 ft to 500 ft elevation, but crossing the same major mountain pass).

So overall average was 21 mpg for the roundtrip, which I was pretty pleased with, particularly since we had a long Thule cargo box on the roof.

With my JLUR (8spd auto) the first 1800 miles I drove averaged 22.5 MPH, I thought this was great. This was on my trip from Idaho, into Wyoming, Moab Utah and Arizona. I went up and down mountains, highways, 80 MPH in Utah, 4wd in Moab, and various cities. This was a good mix of everything.

Stock JLU Rubicon 3.6l, I drive 32 miles each way to work on SoCal freeways in usually pretty crummy traffic. Takes me on average 50 minutes to go that 32 miles and 90% is on the freeway. I never go over 70 and usually get stuck doing 60-65 due to all the traffic. I am getting right at 21mph.

I'm at 5000 miles in my 2018 Rubicon Unlimited 3.6L mostly stock automatic. 50/50 in summer averaging 20.0 mpg. 50/50 in the winter averaging 19.0 mpg in Mass. Those are the computer calculations. I haven't checked at the pump with an actual calculation but I'm very happy with those numbers as I didn't get this as a gas miser. I do 70 on the highway and it's somewhat hilly in my 24 mile daily commute. I have the engine stop/start disabled but if I have to wait more than 1 min I will use it. My Ram eco Diesel is where I get my mileage but I'm ecstatic with the 3.6L.

I was getting a consistent 18 mpg until the cold weather kicked in. Now I'm at 16. I'm guessing it's the winter blend of fuel.

For those that are disappointed in your MPG I get a 4Runner from work and I am stuck at 18.5 mpg. The RUBI has more reason than the 4Runner to have cruddy mileage. I think this goes with the territory of a high stanced vehicle. If you want mileage, go buy a Nissan Rogue. 25 MPG all day.

I have a stock rubi 2.0l with aftermarket bumper and side steps only. I don’t have a heavy foot and drive like an average person, but after 2k miles I’m at 13.1mpg!!! Idk why it’s so low. Can it be a possibility something is wrong? Maybe some kind of fuel leak? Just doesn’t seem right.
