I use an air bag as my jack. I can fill it with my compressor or my exhaust. It works in pretty much all ground conditions and can flip a Tundra back on its paws. It’s good for recovery and (softly) getting a high centered or side centered Jeep back into the game

Guess i will get one of those AEV blocks, I appreciate all the information!
I bought one of those after having to change a tire and having to locate a flat rock to put under the jack. Pretty sketchy with the rock but got the job done. I decided I’m not gonna try my luck a second time in the future so I bought that AEV block and it does store nicely out of the way.

Instead of the AEV overpriced piece of plastic and a sketchy scissor jack look into something like the safe jack

https://safejacks.com/collections/bottle-jack-accessories/products/basic-bottle-jack-kit
Safe Jack is expensive but has some nice stuff. I do not carry a bottle jack but my experience on the trail with those that do often begins with an inoperable fluidless jack… The lower cost ones like Harbir Freight are notorious for losing fluid when stored in less that perfect conditions. Maybe the safe jacks with their higher cost and hopefully higher quality have overcome this drawback.

Use a sharpie and write Jeep on it…then maybe?
If he writes Jeep on it he will have to sell the wood for at least $100...

jeez are you serious to buying a $80 plastic block?
just get a piece of 2x8 wood from home depot. cost less than $5 and you can make probably 3 out of it.
Yep, sometimes some of us are willing to pay quite a bit for something that takes up zero usable space. Fortunately mine was only a $43 option when I bought my Wrangler.

I carry a Hi-Lift farm jack bolted onto my rear bumper skid, and I have permanently attached a farm jack base plate to it, like the one @Roky showed in his previous post.

I don’t recommend this if (a) you don’t know how to safely use it (including what contact point on the vehicle to jack from); (b) cannot efficiently and safely store it (loose in the back of a Wrangler would be a nightmare in a rollover accident); (c) cannot physically handle its weight. Also, you must keep them lubed so they function properly. I always carry a can of Break Free, or a similar product, in my gear bag, and I periodically spray the mechanism with it.

Jacking up a vehicle will always have safety issues, regardless of the jack used. Farm jacks are no different. The key is to loosen your lug nuts before jacking up the vehicle, jacking it up just barely high enough to install the spare tire, and installing the lug nuts snug - but don’t torque them down until the vehicle is back on the ground. Just make sure the spare is fully seated before lowering it.

I avoid having to crawl or reach under my Jeep unless absolutely necessary - I’m too old for that crap! - thus the farm jack.

I have one of these in my Jeep and one in my truck. Amazon and Tractor Supply carry them. I keep the one in my Jeep in a plastic milk crate which also holds the handle, gloves, etc.

I also carry this and a bottle jack in my 392. I guess counting the stock jack, I have 3 jacks in it...lol..

Gortech Jack. Threw the OE Jack in trash, my wife’s Audi A4 Jack is even beefier than jeep’s.

I carry one of these and a piece of LVL beam material for a stable base.

This is what I carry too. I still have the factory scissor jack with the spacer that came with the XR package if I need a backup.

Which one do you use? I like this idea, takes up less space, no fluid to fuss with like bottle jack
