If I was driving the Jeep, I would think that the other driver had fled the scene. From what I have seen, the Jeep stopped and the Tesla drove away.
Yep- and I would have called 911 immediately, reported the hit and run, and waited for the officer to come and make a report….. unless,
I was in no condition to do so. 🥃 🍸 🍺

I might have missed it, but what actual evidence is there that the Jeep drove off? That's not at all apparent from the OP video - we do not see it drive off.

You'd need a warrant and a plate number/Vin to even try to access that information. Despite what our paranoid members might believe, Big brother isn't that involved in what jeep is where and when. You still have freedom and some right to privacy even if the lawmakers want to chip away at it every chance they get.
Your information is safe don’t worry. 🤨

I wouldn't go that far, but if you think the government has unfettered access to all the OEMs tracking data you're high. They could write enough speeding tickets this week with that info to pay off the national debt. If you're a suspect with reasonable suspicion they CAN get a warrant and track your car/cell phone/ etc, but nobody is taking your day to day. Enjoy the tin foil hat club.

I know the 392 is at fault. Not denying that, but they might’ve peaced out because of how the tesla started ramming them. Wonder if the 392 called it in as a road rage event. Also, that twitter claims the driver of the tesla only had liability insurance, now I’m stupid sometimes but would you not want to insure a car that expensive pretty well?

If the 392 don’t call it in and just kept going, then hit and run. BUT i’m also wondering if the tesla had a floor mat and during the initial accident it got lodged on the throttle like that toyota recall years ago and just kept trying to drive forward.

If you watch the other videos from the Tesla you can see the Jeep turn back onto the road that they were turning off of and take off.

We have for many years now maintained Un- and Underinsured Motorist coverage on our auto insurance policy. We've done so precisely because other folks can't be trusted to maintain sufficient insurance (i.e., collision) coverage of their own. My wife's experience as a State Farm office manager, who dealt with collision claims as a matter of course, made that reality unignorably plain.

The aforementioned endorsement is voluntary on our part, and not exactly inexpensive, but it's a sound investment based again on the imperfect choices made by other automobile drivers. It seems that the Tesla driver, "Radu Stefan", is one such person.

I respectfully encourage anyone reading this post, who doesn't have such coverage on his or her policy, to make inquiries with their agent.

It is pretty obvious that the tesla driver was startled and accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake, and/or it was a malfunction of the "electric" car. The jeep is totally at fault and there is no reasoning you can use for the jeep to drive off.

If you're going to flee, that would be the way to go. It takes you straight off the mountain to I95. Deer Creek is a two lane winding road that just takes you over to Kyle Canyon Rd, right by the Mt Charleston Hotel, from there it's the same distance down the mountain to the I95.
I can tell you exactly what happened on that corner. The Jeep - most likely out-of-towners - is coming down the mountain from the Lee Canyon resort area. Lot's of good summer activities out of the heat in the valley. They intend to take the very scenic Deer Creek Rd over to Kyle Canyon Rd - either for a meal at the hotel, or just to take in the great views on the drive. The sign marking the turn is a bit less then 100yds from the intersection and, going down hill through there, it's easy to be rolling faster then you think you are.

I've seen at least four or five cars over cook that turn over the years.

As a side: I've never had a front plate on a vehicle here in over 30 years of car ownership. It's never been cited - or even mentioned by a leo.

Sounds like they need to put a sign sooner lol :D I get that the driver's still in the wrong, but giving them a better heads up might make things a little safer.

Jeep was driving far too fast around the corner. Fast enough to slide the vehicle and the vehicle was not in control by the driver. This Jeep owners 2nd vehicle is probably a BMW. I’d ram the Jeep owner too if I were hit in the same manner. Damn Jeep drivers…
