Are any of y'all in snow country carrying around emergency snow shovels? Or are you just relying on traction boards and winches?

For my mostly urban winter driving, I usually just throw a scraper/brush in my vehicles, but I'll be driving to a cabin in the mountains and wanted to be a little more prepared for whatever I may encounter.

I was about to buy a cheap collapsible shovel off of amazon, but wanted to see what y'all were carrying first.

Yeah good to have shovel - traction boards - chains - recovery gear - tarps - emergency medical kit - tire inflator - charge cables - extra clothing/gloves etc etc. We keep this in the Jeep all winter. This year have been skiing/SB 25+ times already so always like to be prepared. Can say tho on paved snow covered roads 4H with KO2s handles most driving situations like nothing. Traction is really quite superb. Key is the 3PMSF. Faster tread wear vs old KOs - but much grippier when on snow.

The trifold e-tool is the one I linked.
Actually, you seem to have linked an all weather cargo mat. Or at least that's what I get when I click on your link, heh. I guess it could work as a very large shovel...

I wouldn't call it an "EMERGENCY SHOVEL", but-

Any jeep should carry a SHOVEL and it shouldn't be HUGE--you can always use a shovel in MUD/SAND/SNOW-ETC-you just have to carry the shovel so that it's outta the way and doesn't appear to be a SORE THUMB !

The LITTLE folding shovels are a PITA--like loading sand with a SPOON !

About 50 years ago I dug my Jeep out of a low-center hang-up in Arizona using one of these, because that's what I had available.

When you're in a jam, you can use a lot of things.
