I can’t believe jeep is doubling down with external hinges on the new Jeep Recon….

If the next generation wrangler comes with internal hidden hinges I will be first in line 😂

Mine is at the dealer body shop right now getting the door hinges and two doors repaired. Supposed to be done Thursday or Friday. I sure hope it looks good afterwards.
I dropped it off Monday and they expected I would have my Jeep back today. Called around the time I was leaving work and it is still in line to get in the paint shop. Mid next week estimate now. I sure hope it looks okay after this. All passenger door hinges are being replaced and two doors repainted.

The location of the hinges is not what's causing this issue.

Can anyone tell me if the corrosion lawsuit with the four plaintiffs (Orozco, et al., vs. FCA US LLC ) has been decided yet?

I'm sorry you're having to put up with that. Hopefully the dealership I'm going through won't get bent out of shape because I ordered my new jeep through another dealer and try to screw me over. Either way, I have a spare car so I don't really need their loaner.
Going on 2 MONTHS with the run around and false denial of my reimbursement with nobody listening. I try and escalate to a supervisor and I have only gotten one call back from a supervisor in the 3 requests I have put in to talk to one (actually just found out this morning that it was a level one employee who was faking being a supervisor). Jeep Cares is an absolute joke in my opinion. This is my first time dealing with this brand and I can confidently say I will be hard pressed to ever do it again. In all my years of owning cars I have never been treated so poorly in regards to the run around and lack of help I have received. All I can say is at-least my car is fix (hopefully it wont come back) and I can move on from this. I am still trying to get my reimbursement and will be bringing in a legal team if necessary because this is absolutely ridiculous. Anybody who is trying to get their car fixed goodluck with @JeepCares because I just got off the phone with them this morning and I was told again there is no supervisor / manager who can help me, I can't talk to the previous case manager who was in charge of my denial, and I can't get beyond anybody who is a level 1 customer service representative.

I just got the call to drop mine off in the morning. They're giving me a rental and hopefully I'll have it back in a week or so.

It sucks that you're having such a time with all of this. I wouldn't give up on Jeep just yet. I was having a lot of trouble with one dealer in particular and I finally found one who actually gives a shit about customers and business.

Well our 2020 Mojito JL Shara going into the body shop on November 14 as they are so backed up with similar Jeep repairs. Seems they are seeing them daily for repairs. Will see how this all shakes out in the end

i am saddened to see that it is hit or miss. my dealer took pictures and had the car repaired at a local body shop (they do not have a paint shop in house). Jeep approved it within 4 days. It took them 3 weeks to get me my car back but it is great now. The Jeep dealer in Annapolis admits that they have many many wranglers coming in for this. the frustrating thing is that they are only doing the affected doors--thus if you have only two with corrosion, they will only fix those two. you will have to come back later for the other ones. I had all 4 and the trunk done which was nice. crazy it has come to this.

i am confused--did you have the car repaired by someone else instead of going through the dealer first?

nevermind, i read your posts. It seems you had the same path i had--i took it to the dealer, they took photos and then got approval, and then they asked me to take it to an autobody shop they partner with. The key difference is that in my case, they never asked me for money and they billed the dealer directly. I never signed anything with the autobody shop and dropped off/picked up at the dealership. I only went to the autobody shop for the initial photos and quote that Jeep submitted to corporate for the repair.

shocking they asked you to pay and get reimbursed vs just pay the autobody place directly. I also saw in your post that you mention they brought up the fact you are not the original owner--since both the initial warranties (mechanical and corrosion) all transfer--that is a load of crap. Good luck!

I just noticed very slight blistering right in front of one of my hood hinges.. and very slight on the leading edge of my hood.. so slight you can't notice unless your looking for it.. im definitely going to document with the dealer.. but I wonder if they will even want to repair it since it's slight.. I know its there so it bothers me.. thats the only place I have found it and I really had to look for it but still..

I noticed mine maybe two months ago. Only after reading about it here in the forums I went outside to look. And sure enough I saw it.
Ha ha.. i’ll be checking mine tomorrow! I just got my first Wrangler and joined the Forums recently so all this is new to me also.

I can say this from having previously owned, a tacoma, 4 runner, and recently a Gr Cherokee for 5 years.. i havent had many if any issues with it that would want me to never by a Chrysler product. All manufacturers sometime have an issue that gets out of control, sometimes its design/manufacturing issues, sometimes its a shitty vendor issue or sometimes Human complacency issue- most times none of this devalues the vehicle enough to not want it. Just my .02

Tried yet another dealer to get my paint issue acknowledged and/or scheduled for repair…

I was told because I didn’t purchase my Jeep from them, they wouldn’t be able to get me in by the time my corrosion warranty expires next March.

I really don’t know what to do at this point..
