That's when Jeep Cares needs to step up. I bought mine about four hours away. My local dealer looked at it in '21, but then dropped the ball for a year (I figured Jeep was just making a determination until I finally contacted Jeep and at first got the run-around, but then was told they didn't...
What's funny is Jane from Jeep Cares told my husband she's never heard of a Jeep being returned a second time for the same corrosion. He basically told her she needs to do more research, then! UGH!!!
They are saying as of this coming Monday or what Monday? I dropped off my Jeep on 10/3 for just corrosion work and was offered a rental. Nothing said about a limit or out of pocket. We have an extra car, so I didn't take them up on it.
And, yes, I had to send mine back after going to pick it...
I've heard the corrosion on the bottom of the door or hood that you're talking about is from particles in the prep phase of painting. That the dissimilar metal flakes are on the vehicle due to poor prep and that's why it corrodes there. 🤷♂️
I think there's been people in this thread that have had repeat issues. IRL I know of someone who has had repeated issues and just got rid of their Jeep because they were tired of dealing with it after two fixes.
I just wanted to follow-up with this. I did email from that link you sent. This is their response:
Thank you for reaching out to Jeep customer care;
I am very sorry to hear of any frustration or disappointment involving you having to wait for repairs due to digital imaging. I want you to...
And what about in my case? Had you explained I could call corporate or email with my VIN to get the info I was looking for, that would have solved everything. Yes, here I sit almost four months waiting for an answer that maybe never would come. Can you see our frustration?!
Hmmm. Here's my private message with @JeepCares on 1/11/22:
ME: Is there a way I can check that it's really been started? The service tech I was working with is young and new. We've had other issues with him before on things that weren't right, so just want to be sure it's really submitted...
I've been waiting since the Monday after Thanksgiving!!! We're waiting for a truck we ordered 1/5 to be delivered before we do anything else. Not one word from the Jeep dealership since that Monday. I'm going to go to a different dealership and see if they want to submit a new claim or...
I understand your point, but I'm confused because I see people who have 4-year-old Jeeps with no holes who are getting fixed. SO how?? They all say it falls under the 5-year corrosion warranty.
But all the bubbling I've seen don't have holes and are being fixed. I still have 3/36,000 warranty (so I'm not worried)...I'm just very confused because there's never been holes, yet things are getting fixed under the 5-year warranty.
My dealer took pictures the Monday after Thanksgiving and I haven't heard a word from them. I don't even know if Jeep got the pictures... no one can even tell me that.
My fear would be Jeep would say they never received the claim. I'm having issues with my dealer now. They claim they sent the pictures, but I have no proof. I'm dealing with a very unexperienced service tech who messed something else up for me, so my faith is gone. I asked JeepCares if they...
Someone else said they stopped replacing panels about eight months ago, but Idk how true that is.
Their comment about it has to be where you bought it is BS. It's warranty work... you can do it at any Jeep dealer. I'd for sure get @JeepCares involved.
