Just dropped my 18 off this morning. I’m told it will probably take around 8 business days, although I by no means want to rush this repair work. I have to admit, so far this process has been painless for me personally. Really praying they can decently match and blend the paint. They put me in a 2022 Ram 1500 Big Horn until work is complete.

Another spot showed up at the bottom of the drivers door…
I have emailed Jeep Cares with updates and photos, I have called and left messages with my customer care rep who managed the repair the last two times and no one has responded.
I guess now the warranty is out (33,455miles) I am S.O.L…

There is a spot on each of the doors on my 2 door JL and a little bubbling on the passenger side hood hinge. I took the Jeep to my dealer and the service manager photographed the spots and submitted the photos to FCA. It has been about 2 weeks and have not heard anything yet. I will call next week to see what is going on.

After having my JL for 3.5 years and between 30k and 35k miles - we finally got the dreaded paint bubbles around the door hinges - under them mostly. Any words of advice considering it is out of warranty?

My 2019 Sahara is in the dealership to repair my corrosion - which was found on all 4 doors, hood and tailgate. Out of curiosity, what are the timelines that you all have seen for this repair? The dealer it's at originally told me 2-3 weeks for the whole process, now they have had it for 3 weeks they're telling me it's still 2 weeks away from being completed. Thanks in advance!

Can't tell you..shhh

It took about three weeks for the dealer to get back with me to tell me I was approved. Now it looks like getting an appointment at the body shop is going to take an act of God. They told me two weeks ago that I was next in line and they still haven't given me an appointment. I'm calling them next week to tell them I can't schedule until after the 1st of September because I want to make sure I have my jeep for the invasion in Tennessee at the end of the month. It would suck to have to take my wife's Camry down there because I've already booked everything

Washed our 2018 JL Sahara (24,000 miles) today and noticed early stages of corrosion around the front door hinges.

Took it to my dealer back in July. They inspected it and scheduled the repair for 8/1. So we dropped it off Monday 8/1 and are waiting for it to be done. Dealer said two weeks and gave us a ‘21 Cherokee loaner.

Dropped my 2020 off Monday 8/8 and they told me 2 or 3 days. Put me in a Mazda CX-5. Seeing the time others here dealt with or were told makes me shake my head. Who knows when I’ll get it back.

I actually considered just getting tube / skeleton doors permanently when I had my Jeep. ??

Or somehow finding an aftermarket vendor that makes steel doors, hinges, hood, etc. Pretty sad to know that there might be a market for it. lol

I decided to take off all my hinges and have them powder coated Also ordered all new bolts and will apply some Tef-Gel on the bolts as the new bolts will stainless. Maybe that will help.

All of the hinges have primer on the back but there was no paint on the hangers or on the door jams under the hangers. Most of the bolts had signs of corrosion. Attached a couple of photos from a door that the shop did not do any repairs because there wasn't any signs of corrosion on the door or hinges.
