  1. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

I decided to take off all my hinges and have them powder coated Also ordered all new bolts and will apply some Tef-Gel on the bolts as the new bolts will stainless. Maybe that will help. All of the hinges have primer on the back but there was no paint on the hangers or on the door jams...
  2. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Ya I will probably go that route or line-x. I might even have the entire jeep coated in line-x.
  3. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Picked up my jeep yesterday and I would have been much better off taking to a shop and paying to have it fixed. Its not that the shop did a bad job, Jeep just decided to approve paint for this area and not others. For example, they replaced the entire hood but not the hinges. I have a freshly...
  4. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

I could see it being an issue if the bolts where corroded pretty bad. I haven't seen them so I don't know. This deal has been a cluster from the start. Between the dealership loosing my parts somehow. Then the body shop manager getting fired, then jeep going back and forth and what to repair...
  5. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

My jeep wasn't ready Friday so now shooting for Tuesday. The shop has told me they are not sure how well the paint is going to match. They are fading in some areas but warned me we might have to fight with Jeep if it looks terrible. They have told Jeep that paint is not correct on the body...
  6. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

    No supposedly during disassemble.
  7. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Mine has been at the dealership for over a month now. Last issue was that all the bolts on the hinges stripped out. Hoping to pick it up today but who knows at this point.
  8. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Yes, the hood was so bad it just couldn't be saved. A lot of the corrosion was around the pinch welds all the way around. I haven't seen the doors sanded but they say some metal is so bad that they would need to cut it out or replace the doors.
  9. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Got a call from the dealership today. Apparently 3 out of the 4 doors are needing to be replaced to go along with the hood. Now we are waiting on approval for the doors. Hopeful to have it back by the 15th.
  10. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Update on my jeep. Bodyshop called and said Mopar is refusing to replace the hood unless they sand and take photos and let them decide. This bodyshop has already been down this road with Mopar and just as soon as they sand and take photos they will tell them to just repair. This puts the...
  11. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Internesting, mine is getting new hinges and a hood right now. Wondering if the new hinges will come with any type of material or gasket. Hope to find out soon.
  12. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

I am also thinking about going the Line-X route. It's not just the bubbles in the paint. My paint is so soft if you look at it too long it will fall off. 🤣. Also thinking about getting a wrap but eitherway still need to figure out how to get the corrosion to stop. Hopefully my dealer will have...
  13. “Definitely not as capable as a solid axle Jeep Wrangler”

The new Bronco's are just ok, nothing really stands out that makes me want one. To me, the most disappointing thing about the new Bronco is under the hood. It literally looks like they just threw some junk in there and didn't bother to cover or organize anything.
  14. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

That's crazy, when I took mine in mine in they had to take photo's of each bubble with a ruler measuring the size, then they went back around again and placed some tape and took more photos. After that, I then went over to the body shop for them to look at it to do the estimate. They took the...
  15. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

I don't know for sure but I assume some dealerships don't want to be bothered with warranty work. Could be its a hassle for a dealership to submit the claims to get reimbursed. Also, if a dealership has already had to deal with the issue and their body shop sucks, that Jeep is just going to...
  16. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

The biggest issue is its so inconsistent from dealership to dealership. Opening a case doesn't seem to do anything because the only result I've gotten out of that is they always side with the dealership. At first they are like, we are hear to help and we will get this resolved!! Only to...
  17. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

I really think it just comes down to finding a dealership that will go to bat for you. I attempted to get the steering box replaced at Gettel Chrysler in SW Florida and their response was kinda baffling. Said they would have to do the work and submit the claim and if they denied it then I would...
  18. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Mopar has approved the warranty work. The service rep made it sound like they were ordering a new hood and hinges. When the parts come in they will call the schedule the work.
  19. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

Went by the dealer today to take the photo's and information to submit for warrenty. Sounded like it would be covered but I waited over a year before going to see if more appeeared which they did.
