Just checked with amw and they are using Mobile 1, 5w20 in the hemi. I'm still trying to decide. 5w30 I'm leaning towards but what brand is still in the air.
I just switched to Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W30 at my first Oil Change. I live in Myrtle Beach South Carolina so the W doesn't bother me too much. Engineers sometimes don't have say in what oil is the absolute BEST for the vehicles. CAFE, CARB and EPA Standards force the Manufacturers to comply with Emission and Mileage Standards. They want to cram the most mileage out of an engine even if it is only on paper. If they don't, it costs them Millions if not Billions of Dollars. 0 vs 5 Winter Weights isn't that Big of a Difference. The important part is the Viscosity after it warms up and the 30 definitely protects better than a 20 weight oil for longer periods of time at 212 degrees and above operating temperatures. 0W20 is just fine as long as you change the oil more often than what the Manual says. 10k Plus is insane. Personal preference but I change my oil every 5000 miles. But each their own. The Perfect Oil doesn't exist. Use whatever your mind tells you you are comfortable with. I am going to try this Valvoline Restore and Protect and see what happens.

I did a couple changes of Valvoline R&P in my 100,000 mile GMC 5.3, cut the filter open on the first fill ~2000 miles and found nothing out of the ordinary in the media. I read a bunch of cautions about loading the filter with sludge and causing bypass. Didn't happen at all. That engine has been run on M1 since new, mostly M1 EP 5w20 and 5w30. Apparently, M1 EP keeps an engine pretty clean. Next change, I'm going back to M1 EP which has proven to be a pretty durable oil. My understanding is the M1 Truck & SUV is even more durable.

I saw motor oil Geek's video where he uses restore abd protect in his wife's minivan. He says that it dissolves stuff in the oil and the filter does not catch much.
Also, in motor oil Geek's latest test, PUP beat truck and suv in its own game, shear stability. Not just that; PUP beat Amsoil and Redline in shear stability as well. It is crazy

I doubt LSJr lets his wife minivan go to the point of worse case so I can believe he did not get much.

There has been more than enough cut open posts and videos showing extensive cleaning of heavily varnished and sludge engines using Valvoline R&P and the oil filter catching quite a bit of debris from the cleaning.
