If you open just the oil cap and let the oil drain without opening the filter, is it not good enough, even if you let it drain overnight? I'm asking this because every time I change my oil so early, my filter is so clean, so I don't want to change my filter.
3.6 pentastar, thank you

It'll be "good enough"

But no one with a 3.6L will recommend doing what you're doing.
I change my oil every 2,000 miles, 2 months, or when I get bored, whichever comes first. Poor filter looks so clean

Plain and simple, change your engine oil and engine filter at the same time. Always look in the pleats to make sure that there is no metal in them.

Crack the oil filter cap loose to release the anti-drainback valve, then retighten it.

Better yet, start running the $3 Champ P1009XL oil filter from RockAuto since it's cost-effective and 99% @ 20 micron (same as a Fram TG11665, but rated for 10k miles rather than 15k). I've run these in all 3 of my Pentastars.

2K on oil and 4k on filter is what I want to do
If all the voices in your head agree, then do it.
Last thing you need is conflict with your thingy...

You need another hobby or a project vehicle or take your Jeep off road and break/bend something so you can fix/upgrade it.
Pretty much exactly why I went and bought another sports car; I was spending too much time fixating on stupid crap for our Jeeps!

If your oil is dirty enough to need changing at 2k then so is your filter.

(They are both fine at 2k miles, it is a waste of time and money to change them that soon unless you have a good reason to change it.)
