Ok, I’m going in……

3.6 extremely reliable, sounds great, easy to work on, and more than enough power if you regear accordingly to your tire size.

2.0, seems reliable, sounds like a sewing machine, seems reliable, been used by Fiat for a good while, but only been in the wrangler for 4-5 years, not as easy to work on and also needs a regear when going with bigger tires. Costs a bit less in gas than the 3.6.

I would go with either the 3.6 or the…Gulp….. 4xe.

You forgot to mention the 392! So what we have to ransom people to buy one?

Whichever route you go, get the mopar extended warranty as both have a good chance of failing!

i had the pentastar in the town and country and journey. Had no issues in either. For the wrangler, went with the 2.0. My google researching before I bought it seemed to be a pretty good engine without any catastrophic issues.

luck of the draw as far as im concerned

Need help. Would one choose the 2.0 or the 3.6 for reliability and smooth operation
Um. None of the above.

It's a Jeep, made by a corporation that pinches way too many pennies in the design and manufacturing of their products.

If you want reliable and smooth operation, look elsewhere. If you want a Jeep, pick the one you want and hope you don't get a lemon.

Neither is more reliable than the other one as far as I can tell. Our 2019 with the 2.0t had 63k trouble free, hard driven, hard wheeled, lifted with big tires miles on it when it was stolen. The 2022 that replaced it with v6, lift, 39s, also driven and wheeled hard is pushing 35k trouble free miles. There are known issues with each but I wouldn't call them common. For the most part both are reliable but a few users have had low mileage failures with either power train. The 2.0t is quicker and gets better mileage.

Actually, the 2.0 is going to accommodate larger tires better than the V6 due to its having significantly more torque.

I am not sure that you will find a favorite in this Forum. The opinion's very. I think in todays age, they are both pretty comparable. The major dislike for the 2.0, is the way that it sounds. My Neighbor has one, and when he leaves his garage, it sounds like a sewing machine to me. But that doesn't mean that the 2.0 is a bad engine. I do prefer the 3.6 engines, of which we have three in the Family. Would I buy another 3.6 again, yes I would.

The 2.0 sounds lIke a sewing machine to those of us who own them, too. If you’re buying based on sound, get the Pentastar.

It's almost impossible to make a V6 sound good. The best you can do to improve the sound is a quiet muffler.

If you're buying for sound, get the 392.

If you are buying a vehicle for sound maybe your priorities are a little skewed
