Looking to trade my 2020 Jeep gladiator rubicon in for a new wrangler and really leaning towards the 2.0 because I’ve had so much issues with the lifters on the 3.6. Is the 2.0 reliable or should I stick with a 3.6?

None... but it pays well.
Crazy that so many believe the 3.6 is worthless. Oh well... I don't see jeep pulling the Hyundai card on extending engine warrenty to 10 years 100k miles. Yep TDI engines have issues, but if there was 3.6 issues that are as bad as Hyundai TDI, you would think we would see warranty extensions. The problem that many point out with Pentastar engines is mostly with below 80k milage and pre 2019 variant. I would say break in and oil maintenance are a factor. Recently someone posted their oil filter cap broke the pressure relief. I admit you will find some difficulty removing the filter from the cap. But my concern is over tightening. I have had a few reply on various oil threads and it seems that my engine oil pressure of 32 to 33 psi is above the 29 to 30 psi that I have been reading from replies. Makes me wonder.

Neither engine is all that great. Test drive the 2.0 and see what you think of it. Don't buy based on perceived better longevity, because that's not a thing with either engine.

Oh and get a warranty for as long as you plan to keep it.

The 2.0 is a good balance of power and fuel economy, IMO, the better of the 2 base choices to move these bricks. Drive both.

The same comments about both engines are posted in every thread on this very same topic.

2.0 is just fine. I drove both and the power is very similar. I read on this sub that 2.0 is faster, but that 3.6 may be better for crawling, there is more control. 3.6 sounds better. If I had to pick on reliability, I would go 2.0. It doesn't seem to have the issues 3.6 has.
