Dead spot is in the steering box, ss won’t eliminate it, however the steering may be a bit firmer feeling which may feel like less of dead spot.
Exactly. It just helps with the feel and reduces the over correction when you drive a vehicle with dead spots. I have no real complaints about my Jeep's steering. I have race cars for scratch my direct steering feel :)

Usually improving the steering on a Wrangler involves replacing factory linkages designed for lightness (fuel efficiency) and comfort (quite les vibrations), with stronger parts optimized for resistance to bending and breakage.

Jeep needs to design to the regulations and majority of customers. We customize for the narrow mission of running big tires and rock crawling. Any engineer will tell you that the parts need to be different if the mission is that different. Hope that helps.

For people like you running 37 inch tires, it would be an advantage. MPG is not your main priority. What about the people running 33's, 35's and smaller? Do they need the more robust suspension parts? Gas consumption will certainly be a concern for the mall crawlers and light users.

I think we are saying exactly the same thing.

In any event, this thread are not about steering linkages. With whatever linkages you have (factory or aftermarket), the JL platform benefits from a good steering stabilizer to minimize/eliminate bump steer, shimmy after hitting bumps and major wabbles.

I was just sharing my datapoint that the AEV stabilizer seems to do the job extremely well. Whomever tuned that stabilizer clearly knew what they were doing.

Thank you for the review. I have been eyeballing this SS for a while as it will match my AEV shocks. I was waiting on some real world reviews. I am running a franken lift of Metalcloak and AEV. SHould solve my minor bumpsteer issue.

Thank you for the review. I have been eyeballing this SS for a while as it will match my AEV shocks. I was waiting on some real world reviews. I am running a franken lift of Metalcloak and AEV. SHould solve my minor bumpsteer issue.
I have a Frankenlift my self - Mopar, Icon, Teraflex, Aloy.

I hope this works as well for you as it did for me. It should not made that much of a difference, but it did for me.

Thanks for the review. Mind adding an installed picture of it? Also, is it safe to assume it can be installed so the sticker isn't facing forward and visible?

Yes it can be rotate at will - you can have it with the label hidden. 'll take a picture when it stops raining here. (I moved mine so many times trying to solve the problem below that I now have the label upside down :)

I currently have it installed with a Synergy relocation bracket, which is trash and causes any stabilizer that I have tried to rub and put down force on the tierod at full passenger lock. I'm waiting for a RockJock relocation bracket to correct this.

He's talking about the track bar bolt. He's still got the factory tie rod which, if memory serves, doesn't extend as far forward as most of the aftermarket tie rods. That would cause the tie rod to pull further back and under the stabilizer at full passenger steering lock. No one else has mentioned the same clearance issue, but usually a new tie rod is part of the equation.

Yes. The trackbar bolt. It puts the stabilizer too close to the stock tierod, causing contact starting at about 2/3 passenger lock and a good deal of force pushing the tierod down at full lock.

The best I could achieve is angling it so it scrapes about a 1/2" section of the shock body. Can't wait to fix it.

Actually, I am a fan. I think it is an ingenious design and worked well on my JK. What is not cool is that Synergy pushed the same design on the JL that has a stock tierod that is 1 and 5/8" vs the JK 1 adn 3/8". There is simply not enough clearance on the JL.

Actually, I am a fan. I think it is an ingenious design and worked well on my JK. What is not cool is that Synergy pushed the same design on the JL that has a stock tierod that is 1 and 5/8" vs the JK 1 adn 3/8". There is simply not enough clearance on the JL.


P.S. I had the same setup on my JKUR with both stock (2 years) and Synergy (2 years) tierods - never an issue. JL = different story.
