Why do I have bump steer?

So... help a brother out. What DOES cure bump steer? In the posts above they claim making the drag link and track bar parallel will. Do you refute that?

Yes the drag link and track bar need to be parallel along the horizontal plane...which just centering your axle won't do. this one of my JK's

It's the length of the two link bars (drag link & track bar a.k.a panhard bar), and their mounting points in relation to each other. When they cycle through their range of motion, you want both axle-side ends to move in similar paths. Paths that are not similar will have noticable bump steer. Parallel could be good or bad depending on bar length and mounting locations.

Quick update - after swapping the longeer LCAs that came in the mopar lift kit for the stock length LCAs, the bumpsteer issue hasn't been an issue. glad to report that the jeep drives great.

I had the same issue . From what I understand once your track bar and draglink get eteep enough the oe mount location for the axle end of the track bar and same end of the drag link will give you bumpsteer on decent sized dip or bumps especially at higher speeds. Installing the Currie High steer cut down on my bump steer a lot . Next I swapped the soft Fox shocks out and installed slightly stiffer Eibach shocks . They reduced the distance the suspension traveled so naturally you get less bumpsteer. I am perfectly fine with the way it drives now . It just takes a lot of little things to add up. Always look at what changed when you lift something and figure out what your lift kit didnt correct . You can bet any lift company that included shocks valved with the springs rates a good ride including eliminating bump steer then add geo brackets and High Steer would go out of business as it would be a complete kit and too expensive for most . It sucked but I am fussy when it comes to tracking and steering
