Wonder if that is why my temp control has been horrible. Mine will blow hot until I go all the way cold then I can back it off and it will work from there. It it will blow cold and until I turn it all the way high it stays freezing, but then I can back it off from there and get the in betweens. I took it in for this early on and of course they claim "unable to replicate" been this way since day 1.
You'll hear a click, click, click when it's going bad.

@jrap That sucks, sorry to hear that!?

Some thoughts: you might use them a lot, maybe the 2dr visors are crappy quality, you might be unknowingly yanking on them too hard.

My wife does that a lot. She broke our kitchen sink handle. She uses it a lot and is very abrupt/brash and forceful with her movements of it. :muscle: Secretly I married a Latin Viking! :CWL:

I use the JLU sun-visor extremely rarely, mine seems very tough/strong, not easy to break, but I don't use it a lot too, so that's just a visual view I have of it. Mine looks like good quality plastic. ?

Even if you think you're not being rough with it, try handling it like its a baby. It might be that you think your using it normally, but you might also be a steeled viking and not realize it. :muscle:

Best of luck, if all else fails, you can always replace it with a DIY steel visor! ?

Gentle or not, maybe it's the az heat, but our passenger side one is (almost) never used and it fell when on the trail. Ridiculous that the this little plastic piece is what it relies on. Of course if it was made from the kind of polymer like the frame a glock uses, probably wouldn't be an issue

Just installed the two screw bracket repair kit on both visors this morning. I had already recently repaired the driver's side with the locking push-washer fix, and it's still holding up. However I've been treating it rather gingerly, as if it were a detonator.

Well my wife just recently also broke the passenger side visor. Boom, the remote detonator just exploded. This visor implementation was designed by kindergartners using Elmer's glue and paper mache. Certainly not rugged enough for a toy, let alone a $30K+ Jeep.

Anyway, I installed the two screw bracket repair kit on both sides. Not only to just repair the passenger side but also to additionally beef up the driver's side fix as well. So the driver's side visor has two separate repair procedures applied.

FCA (Stellantis) should fire, yes terminate, any manager who thinks this visor design was (or still is) a good idea. Either that or have them personally reimburse all those who have suffered these broken pieces of crap. Some corporate knucklehead should owe me $20 plus the several hours of my time to fix their incompetent mistake.

By the way, I would never consider letting the dealership repair this by simply replacing the flimsy plastic assembly that will likely break again upon first use.

In fact the last time I dropped off my JL at the dealership for a seat latch repair, it was involved in an on-premise collision of which they claim was not their fault. It sure wasn't mine. I was 15 miles away at work at the time of the crash. Even though they claim a third-party delivery truck driver hit my Jeep, he was there doing dealership business. Also, it should never have been parked or placed where it could have become a target.

Buy or operate your Jeep, very (very) tenderly. Else, when it does break, likely due to some super fragile plastic component, they'll find a way to muck it up even worse.

For me it's now also waiting (and paying) while going through the hassle of repairing body damage via a claim with my insurance.

In the big picture, visor's are the least of my Jeep repair trouble.

Why is the sunvisor on a Sport so fat? If they could make special grills for Sports, why not a special simple sunvisor?

I'd wager the supplier uses a single mold, so that it's the required thickness for the upmarket visor with the integrated garage door control feature.

Has anyone tried their new "drivers side" design? Looks a fair bit larger than most of the others and has a nice tapered contour. Shame there isn't a reversed "passengers side" version yet.

Usually not a fan of all the over-abundant Chinese knock-offs myself, but at least a few of these companies have been revising their designs to something a fair bit different than the original version.

not sure what y'all do with your sun visors but dang y'all are rough on them. on year four of owning my jeep and have not hand a problem at all with mine
It's a known issue. Don't use mine much, but had the problem. The thing that pissed me off is dealers know it's a problem, and they replaced my drivers side visor BUT wouldn't do the passenger side cuz it wasn't broken... yet! Just stupid!

They didn't replace the bracket, the whole visor assembly was replaced with one that has been re-engineered. Why would i want them to repace the passange side? ...cuz it will be a problem at some point. Why should I have to fix a KNOWN issue?

But was it re-engineered? Or they just tell you that? When I first got mine replaced, the service rep said "this is an upgraded one, redesigned". Then it broke the same and looked the same. I'm calling bs.

Guess i'll find out in time... but the visor had been replaced, the yellow warning sticker is much bigger

it was not reengineered, it's the exact same POS that came with the car
