Do I really need this to go to 37s?

You don’t have to use this….. it’s just added support for the track bar and sector shaft, also helps with frame deflection where the steering box bolts on…..it can always be added later if the need arises…..

Too bad Jeep only did a TSB on the upgraded steel gearbox...
However you can buy a new Mopar steel gearbox online for around $400. When I switched the aluminum steering gearbox to steel on my '20 JLR it was a very noticeable improvement! This is not a difficult DIY project, just take your time, follow directions and make sure you don't leave trapped air in the lines.

@4xFUN Thanks for the info and suggestion … will need to take a pass on this right now as I will be installing the Dynatrac HD Ball joints, Steer Smart Tie Rod and Draglink ON TOP of replacing my coolant tank, hoses, water pump, belt & pulleys, even the alternator pulley 😮

So I Just Emptied Every Pocket and still will be needing to buy the 37s in the near future 😇🤓😜

You do have a few projects upcoming! The Dynatrac's are a great choice, don't forget to stock up on needle fittings (Dynatrac should really include a couple for what they charge) for your grease gun.

"need" ?
as in; do you "Need" 37s for a Daily Driver? 😄

no, maybe you don't "need" a Track Bar Bracket to run 37s, but it would help. (i use one by another mfr, but my rig is not just a Daily Driver.)

Hey Marshall,
I would leave the track bar for now, run it till it wears out.. I would do drag link and tie rod together…… the SS yeti brace will work with any track bar… if you have a lot of miles on it I would start saving up for ball joints as well….
great advice.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
I run the Steer Smarts front end components. I often do multi month extended wheeling trips. Like wheel 3 to 6 days a week for six to eight months a year and we wheel difficult trails too. I have approx 110,000 miles on Steer Seats front end components. Steer Smarts has excellent customer service. I call Chris, and say hey I am in Moab, can you send me trackball bushings. I get them in two or three days. Or hey, I upgraded from the aluminum steering box to the steel and I need the longer bolts for the track bar brace. I got them the next day.

I bent a tie rod end. I hit a stump in the weeds along the side of a trail while towing my camper at about 10 miles and hour and it stoped the Jeep immediately. Nothing broke, just adjusted the tow to straighten the tires back up. Called Chris, and it was at my house when I got home. I retorque suspension bots often as we do so much off roading. I find that the tie rod nuts are working loose after all the abuse that. I have worn the locking part out of the nut. I call Chris and the nuts are waiting for me at the first post office over the Alaskan border in Alaska.

Mind you I put my Jeep to extreme use. So service after the sale is very important to me. Steer Smarts is excellent in this department. I also realize that these type of components are not feats of extreme engineering and that the true difference between Steer Smarts and others that build steering components really are not very different. I think it is mainly marketing as your better ones like Synergy, RPM, bla, bla blah are all quality stuff. So it should just come down to who is going to serve you better after the sale.

Also note, I have zero affiliation with Steer Smarts. I pay for my stuff from them and there is nothing better than calling them and talking to a person and them saying, hey I will get that right out to you.

I just watched the Northridge 4x4 install video for the Steer Smart Tie Rod and Drag link install….so the Steer Smart does not allow the factory or factory replacement steering stabilizer (I have the AEV Stabalizer) to be used/reinstalled?

They install the Falcon Steering Stablizer…is that needed or can I use the AEV one I have somehow?

Unfortunately the bracket for the oem location for stabilizer is on the factory tie rod… you can still use your stabilizer, you just need to relocate it, which is a good idea anyway…you can use any relo bracket and clamp you want, but I would recommend using the SS bracket and tie rod clamp with their steering….
