Every time someone says Jeeps are only for serious off-roading and if you don't off-road you shouldn't own one. "Because I wanted one" Is a very valid response. People try to gate keep so much with things they have no business talking about. Serious off-roader or not, Wranglers are just a fun vehicle to own.

Agreed, but different question.

"Do you have to serious off road if you have a Wrangler?"

Vs.

"Do you have to have a Wrangler to serious off road?"

It's worse than that. Apparently he's aware of people saying Jeeps are only for serious off-roading? Getting laid in the back wouldn't be allowed??

It's 100% a valid response, until those same people start bitching about handling, ride, interior space, fuel economy, and wind noise. All of those complaints stem from the things that make the wrangler great off road. If you don't wheel it and just "wanted a Wrangler", don't try to tell us it needs to be more 4runner or Lexus like. At that point, you bought the wrong vehicle.

Only you really know that answer, but that’s usually an indication of things getting serious.
True... things get tippy, traction can be an issue, risk of body damage... I guess it checks the boxes for serious offroading!

I agree. I think running around town with the top and doors off is just about as much fun as running trails.

Good point. That 70% passing grade (65% when I was in school) was chosen subjectively. That standard became objective after it was chosen.

So you're right. If it was possible to measure numerical values for every aspect of the trail, the vehicle, the driver, weather conditions, etc. and calculate a score, then yes, that score could be objectively ranked in a subjectively selected ranking system.

Maybe in a hundred years or so we'll be able to gather those measurements objectively. For now, however, most of those managements are subjective.
At the rate they're going, all the "Serious Offroad" trails will be closed.

THIS 100%!!! If you don't like Wranglers for those reasons, get a 4Runner, Land Crusier, Land Rover, G-Wagon, what ever your budget allows. But don't get on the internet and say the Wrangler would be so much better with an IFS, and better aerodynamics. If that's what you think, and you really want a Jeep, wait a couple months and get a Recon.
