My son wanted 37's and I wanted 35's. The reason I wanted 35's was due to the cost of running 37's. My opinion was the Jeep needed stronger steering and axle shafts to safely run 37's off road, vs 35's. Well, he talked me into it and I have absolutely no regret with 37's.

We did install all Synergy steering parts, to include their TB/Sector Shaft Brace, and Advantek chromoly axle shafts (front and rear). Now I don't really worry about breaking anything while off roading.

The more that 37‘s on the way to go especially if you Overland or do any kind of serious offloading. The stock PO twos to 35s and 37 is a good spot. I have no breaking issues a jeep drives awesome. It makes on the trails that bigger footprint does make a difference.

Wow you're just swapping out axles in the 44s right now before going to tons?
I’ll run the 37’s and RCV’s for a while in the 44’s, when I step up to 40’s in about 2 years I’ll most likely go to 60’s. The plan is coilovers etc... 75% of my wheel time is off-road in Oregon... Snowwheeling and muddy hill climbs with occasional rocks...

My opinion is overlanding and serious off-roading are 2 different builds. My wife gets this build once the gladiator gets the diesel, then I will build that for overlanding. As far as footprint goes the Rubicon Trail (Jeep Jamboree rules) required a minimum of 35’s, when I did it last summer I was very glad I had 37’s( aired down to 11).

I made the classic noob mistake of going with 35's vs 37's. I thought the Jeep would get sluggish with bigger tires, so I wanted to minimize that affect. I also didn't want too much height for 35's, so I went with the "true 2 inch" Dynatrac lift supplemented with the full SteerSmarts front end treatment and all 8 control arms and rear track bar from Synergy. The Jeep drives and handles better than before and barely notices the extra component weight and tire diameter.

That lack of performance loss ate at me for about 10k miles. The added capability that 37's could've brought to the table. I caved. Didn't take much. Knew I'd be pushing things to shoehorn 37x12.5's on the factory wheels, and the +44 offset was already crowding the 35's to the under bits. So went with 17x9 -12 (4.53" b.s.) KMC XD138 Brutes. I've been eyeing the Milestar Pat's, but wasn't crazy about the 37x12.5's D-rating, so ended up with the C-rated 38x13.50's.

I'm now extremely pleased with the added capability that comes with larger tires. I've chopped all the fenders for more clearance, but am now on the verge of pulling the Dynatrac springs and shocks and replace them with a set of 3.5 Metalcloak springs. Still trying to decide between Rocksports or 6-packs, or possibly a 2.5" set of Fox's from Accutune.

Wow that's a huge difference in shocks you're talking about. Rocksports are a budget shock compared to the others you're considering. Don't get me wrong if you're on a budget but from the sound of it that's not your case.

Man probably the best setup by far was my stock wheels with spacers and 37 Pat's. Perfect combo.

Not concerned about budget. More a question of whether the Synergy control arms would allow the amount of flex to take full advantage of the 6-packs, or if a tuned set from Accutune would be better fitting.
