  1. Oil separator, anyone ever change it

Yes, I had mine changed under warranty. It took them all day and from the sound of it, there's quite a bit of parts to R&R.
  2. Spark Plugs - To Anti-Seize or Not

Yes, I always do.....always have and always will. I've never heard or seen anything negative from using anti-seize on spark plug threads. I like to be able to easily remove the spark plugs and not have them stick and thus risk thread damage. I also use dielectric grease on the spark plug...
  3. Steering shimmy culprit?

In order to properly check the track bar, you need to look at the axle and frame mount. Re-do your video of both of these mounts but don't turn your tires so much. In the above video, you're inputting too much steering which is causing the tires to turn (as evidenced by your steering...
  4. Brake pads springs broken

When I changed my pads to Hawk LTS, they did not come with new spring clips. A few of the stock clips broke upon installation of the new pads. I've been running it that way for awhile with no issues.
  5. 2.0 Coil Pack Connector white plastic piece lost.

When I've broken the plastic retaining piece, I just use self-fusing (AKA self-vulcanizing) electrical tape to secure the two connectors together. I've done this multiple times and never had a connector come apart. Self-fusing electrical tape is superior to regular electrical tape and can be...
  6. MC game changer vs Rock Jock Pro

The best way to figure out which length shock you need with a lift other than MC, is to install the lift and then cycle your suspension without shocks to get your compressed and extended lengths, then get the correct shock to match. You'd measure from the upper shock mount bolt to the lower...
  7. MC game changer vs Rock Jock Pro

There's nothing magical about the MC lift, as compared to RK or RJ. Where MC shines is with pairing their shocks and mounts to the amount of articulation their lifts offer. I would bet RK and RJ lifts offer just as much articulation when paired with the correct length of shock...
  8. 2.0 Spark plugs, #4 - corrosion

To me, it doesn't look like blow by from burnt oil. It appears whatever caused the rust/discoloration came from the top and was stopped by the washer. The electrode and threads to #4 look same/similar to the other 3. The threads to #4 would show blow by all the way up to the gasket if it was...
  9. Rear axle shafts

We literally posted this at the same time.
  10. Rear axle shafts

Put the rotor on backwards and then attach the lug nuts, but not fully tight. This will act as a poor man's slide hammer. Also ensure all of the bolts are out of the back of the hub. As you can tell, the shafts are in there tight as its supposed to be.
  11. Sector Shaft Brace: Steer Smart vs UPDATED Synergy version

I run the Synergy brace with the old style bushing. I've modified it to add a set screw to keep the bronze bushing from turning. Mine is similar to one of the new styles Synergy is offering, in addition to their sealed bearing. I might upgrade to the sealed bearing, but honestly have had zero...
  12. Muffler delete on a JLUR 2.0 Turbo

I tried the muffler delete pipe on my 2.0 and it was ok. I didn't get any drone, but the sound wasn't what I was looking for. I ended up going with the AWE Trail Edition system, which is similar to the muffler delete, but a much better tone and absolutely no drone. AWE is pretty expensive but...
  13. Brake pads make a difference?

I've used both the Z36 Powerstop rotors and pads and the Hawk LTS pads. The Z36 pads were a very mild upgrade from stock. The Hawk LTS pads are better. EBC pads should be even better than the LTS, but I haven't used them on the JL platform. I'm currently using the LTS pads. Yes, a big...
  14. Are there different spare tire "standoff pucks"?

I'm not sure if there are different length stock spare tire bumpers. If you need one's longer or shorter, Energy Suspension has polyurethane ones which are longer than stock JL, but can be trimmed down to get an exact fit. These are marketed for the JK's, but fit the JL just fine. I use them...
  15. If 4.88 ratio is factory with 32” tires, how can 4.88 be perfect for 37” tires ?

I've got the 2.0 with 4.88's and 37's and live in a mountainous area. The 4.88's are great with the combo and the performance is very close to the stock 4.10/33's. I see 8th gear frequently, unless I'm going up a grade. The reason I didn't choose 5.13's, as has already been stated, is due...
  16. Fluid capacities

The Rubicon models, such as yours, are equipped with: 210 Front Axle 220 with ELD (Electronic Locking Differential) Rear Axle Like @Heimkehr stated, everything I've read/seen for the power steering fluid is the Electric Power Steering stuff from Mopar or equivalent. I would not ever ever put...
  17. Metal Cloak or Fab Tech fenders for JL ?

Yes, I'd go with MC over FabTech. I've never been a fan of FabTech's stuff. I know MC builds great products, which are tried and tested for strength and functionality. I prioritize those over looks....to a degree. But I really like the looks of the MC fenders and they are strong as hell. I...
  18. Metal Cloak or Fab Tech fenders for JL ?

Are you planning on using different wheel well liners? If so, then I'd suggest staying with the same manufacturer to ensure compatibility. I have MC fenders and liners. I went with MC due to their reputation and build quality. Additionally, I found most of those parts for sale, used but...
  19. General Consensus On Brakes & Pads?

No plans to change from Hawk for now, but you never know.
