Lol...no doubt.

https://www.justforjeeps.com/jl-tailgate-reinforcement.html

I've seen other sites list this system for as much as $700
You ordered the tailgate reinforcement system from there? I saw it on that site but thought it was too good to be true. I never heard of the site and thought it could be a scam or something.....maybe just being overly cautious. It came with all the parts and original packaging and everything?

Thanks

That's only one part of the two part system.

I know, I already have the Rough Country relocation bracket to move it up and clear the steel bumper. I was just going to run it like this with no reinforcement. I'm still on the fence with the reinforcement. If I need it, obviously I'd like to get it from this Just For Jeeps site but i've never heard of them. Wondering if others have had experience with the site?

Seems that it was.
So I asked for your opinion on needing a reinforcement for the tailgate, then asked about the legitimacy of that website, then asked for that eBay link....all you did was show me the great deal you got. I don’t think you helped me at all lol

I’m really happy you got a great deal but.....I guess being that you bought one you at least feel it’s necessary so....thanks for answering my question?

I'm sorry about that. I'm honestly back and forth myself on the bracket. There's been a lot of unhappy posts here claiming that they didn't feel the reinforcement bracket didn't do much. There's also plenty of examples of people who have been beating up their Jeeps with heavy 37s on just am aftermarket riser and not having an issue with the added stress ([Banned Site] on YouTube for example).

That eBay sale I bought was one of 3, I'm sure if you message the seller they'll sell you another setup at that price, it seems to just be a dealership selling parts. If not, there's more that are just a little bit more. I've been pretty happy so far with eBay selling dealerships as I got a great deal on my Mopar lift on there.

The website you posted, I'm not sure I've never heard of it but I would still trust one on eBay for that price (at that cost there's a bunch) inside of your link.

Haha no worries man I’ve been reading all the same threads you’ve been posting in as well. I just pulled the trigger on that just for jeeps website. I’ve been thinking about this stupid tailgate thing for weeks, even before I got the Jeep!

I figure I just spent $49,000 for the Jeep, another $3,500 for lift, wheels and tires, really what’s another few hundred bucks for peace of mind.

I think it’s a waste and that’s what Jeep is hoping people will think and they’ll just buy it. Oh well, at least I don’t have to worry about it anymore haha

I hear you. I was back and forth for weeks on if I liked my black rhino wheels on 315/70s, and I just pulled what you did and upgraded to new wheels and 37s. Sometimes you just got to do it for sanity .

Arsenal in desert sand and black. 17"s. Good call getting that reinforcement bracket, they're heavy!
That’s a beautiful whelthing too. I love the desert sand color I just didn’t think it would go well with my Punk’n Jeep. I got the gunmetal because I like the two tone look.

You said you changed wheels though?

Yes I went with the quadratec hard Rock wheels. They're light and they look great while still looking kind of OEM. I stole this photo from another user here. Same wheels but in my granite .
