Hey guys, just wondering what your thoughts are on the Mopar tailgate reinforcement bracket.

I know it's overpriced for what it is, but I like the OEM look. I haven't read anything negative about it regarding its quality, only the price until a vendor recently told me his rattles and pops.

What do owners think?

Useless product. The reason why Teraflex's hinged carrier worked so well on the JK is because it actually took the weight of the tire carrier from the gate and moved it to the tub. This product doesn't do that.

I have had the Mopar tailgate reinforcement bracket on since Feb with a 37” BFG . Was on the Rubicon trail this year and have been to Pismo Beach Dunes multiple times. No issues for me so far. Also, no rattles or pops.

No issues for me. Mine is temporary while the vendors work out how to deal with backup sensors. With my wheel and tire combo weighing in at 115 pounds, I didn’t want to risk it. It’s relatively cheap insurance compared to a new tailgate. The value is taking part of the weight off the middle of the tailgate and attaching it directly to the hinges (as opposed to having all the weight on the middle of the tailgate).

I installed mine myself and have no alignment issues. The included shims did their job during the install. Is it the best thing ever? Nope. But I have zero regrets.

No issues for me but I only have a 315 KO2 mounted, I asked @TTEChris of Tankcustoms about this when he did my lift and he told me to save my $$$ for another mod

Not sure it actually does anything.. but it looks cool! I haven't had any issues with rattling or popping.. but then again I really haven't been listening either.

I am running Cooper Discoverer STT Pro LT315 /70 R17. I really just added the reinforcement as a piece of mind and for a future upgrade to 37s once I drive the jeep for a few years.

No tires, no flats. No flats, no need for spares. No need for spares, no need for tailgate reinforcement.

And when there's traffic I just take this bad boy on nearby uncongested rail road tracks to quickly get where I'm going.;)

There's no way I'm hanging a 37" tire on the tailgate. I don't care what anyone says, cantilevering that much weight on the tailgate will eventually cause major issues. Bumper or frame-mounted is the only way to go. It's really pretty simple physics.

I won't argue with "Chris" experience--he's done some real trials--but

I don't see any need for the "TAILGATE REINFORCEMENT"($$$$)--if you have the larger size spare tire "REST" on the rear bumper---------there's no strain on the "TAILGATE--
