Going to install the Mopar Tailgate Reinforcement today hopefully. Anything I need to be aware of? Looks pretty straightforward. Advice from those that have done it? Thanks and be safe out there!

Go gently on the hinge bolts, they will be a little bit stuck because of the paints. Break the paint with gentle tap first.

Be sure to mark your gate in relation to the body with painter tape or marker, they may move when you took off all the hinge bolts. Use some shims to hold it.

make sure you use the right size torx, there is so much paint that it appears to be a smaller size than it is. They do supply different bolts so if you don’t swap it for a newer setup it does matter that much.

Have shims to hold it in place hopefully. If it moves, I assume I just re-align and tighten the bolts up?

Yes, and if you are going to put on a much heavier rim+tire, it actually helps if you shim up a little more so the sag will be offset.

Stock upgraded Rubi rim with a 35" Nitto RG. Although it's a heavy tire, I don't think it'll be too bad with the stock rim.
