Then, officially, you should add the tailgate reinforcement kit...
Exactly the same here. I went with Quadratec Rubicon Extremes in Satin black with BFG KO2 315/70/17's. Got the tailgate reinforcement kit from Amazon.

I got the relocation bracket in today. As I began to read the instructions, item 1 states “ Swing gate reinforcement kit is required to be installed before the installation of this kit” :headbang:

Somehow I did not know that. I thought the 2 items were completely independent of one another. Has anyone tried to install the relocation bracket without the reinforcement kit? Is it even possible?

I have a relocation bracket (EAG which looks very much like the Rough Country one). It moves the tire up around 2 inches. I recall reading several people have drilled closer holes in the Rough Country one to move it a shorter amount.

Personally, if my tire was just barely making contact with the bumper I would consider that a good thing. It’s getting support and other than cosmetic rubbing that you won’t see, I can’t imagine any other damage. That vertical support and the bump stops would negate the need for extra hinge support, I would think. That said, I have the MOPAR reinforcement kit and while it looks good I’m not sure how much work it does. I got a decent deal on it and felt like it was good insurance against any related warranty claims.

I may get that ACE bracket at some point. That thing looks incredibly strong how it mounts and how it’s built.

Are you using the mopar reinforcement kit and the EAG bracket together? If so, how did you make them work. I got s reinforcement kit cheap and already have the bracket from EAG, it’d be awesome if there is a way to get them working, together

Yes I am. It bolted right up with no issues that I recall. I think I had to remove the EAG bracket, install the parts for the reinforcement kit and then re-install the EAG bracket. Fairly simple. Hardest part was getting the tailgate aligned properly where it would shut.

I can take a picture if that helps.

That’d be awesome yes please, I’m most curious where the spacers in step 11 go in the attachment, thanks !

I would not use it without the reinforcement bracket as it moves the wheel away from the tailgate and puts more strain in the tailgate.

Here are some pics with the EAG braket. Hopefully they show things well enough. I had the EAG braket installed before I got the MOPAR reinforcment and if I recall correctly, I had to remove the entire thing, install the MOPAR parts, including the small spacers on the left side, then installed the EAG kit and then installed the tire carrier. It really was fairly painless except for one bolt that had bad threads.

Curious as to why more arent just getting the tire off the gate entirely and going with bumper/spare carrier option. IF one is going to a better rear bumper anyway it's likely a wash money wise plus getting weight off the body is always a better way to go. Plus you can carry things like gas cans or jacks on it as well.
