So if the 2.0 is this awful unreliable power plant, wouldnt that drive warranty repairs, leading Jeep to want to put as few of them as possible on the road?

Don't need turbos, just more power. Ram had no issues towing 8klbs of JLUR on a trailer up to telluride with the cruise control set at 85mph...aside from the 8mpg. NA is ok if you start with 400hp at sea level.
Towed a Mustang on a trailer and had the bed full of household goods through pretty much the entire length of I-40 in my Ram. 15 MPG. Totally surprised myself with that, lol.

Jeep Wrangler JL Mods please delete Richard Simmons Shocked

Though I suppose with their 192 long blocks a week on the 3.6 that may be what they've just done by limiting it to the manual in the JL and removing the manual option from the JT.

What does "less is more" have to do with any of the conversations going on here? AFAIK you're the first person in this thread to use the phrase. I certainly haven't.
Let me quote where you said:

No they're not superior because they're bigger, they're superior because they get more out of less. I don't care if a motor is 1L or 5L...I care about what I get out of what I put in, what it feels and sounds like in the process, and how long it lasts.
Unless, of course, you think that "more out of less" is somehow the opposite of "less is more".

LOL the irony of this statement coming from one of the most pedantic members i've seen here. You of all people should know that those two phrases have VERY different meanings.

I wanted the manual 6-speed and was happy that the 3.6 V6 was offered without the BSG. I prefer less complexity when it comes to engines, but that is me. The 2.0 I4 is a good engine and definitely helps meet CAFE standards. I am just glad we still have some choices. The 8-speed auto is a great tranny by all accounts and I do hope the V6 will get it back, but this may be the first step to only offering the auto with the 4xe in the future.

I got the manual so I didn't have a choice. But why can't Jeep pair a 2L T with a Manual? Personally I drove inline 4s in several cars (turboless) and was happy to have a V6 when I got the Wrangler. But all I really wanted was to shift gears. To me personally it's why my Jeep feels like a Jeep when I'm driving it. But how about the new straight 6? That'd be my preference if it came with the manual. I think Jeep (Stalantis) is trying to get rid of both, manuals and the Pentastar.
