Does the v6 sound better than the 2.0t? Sure, but neither sound good. People want like the v6 sounds impressive? Compared to what? One sounds like a sewing machine, the other sounds like a Dyson? Not impressive or with factoring into which is better at all in my experience. Even at low elevation the 2.0t was peppier. At 10k feet is not even close. That being said, both are adequate and neither feels like it couldn't use more power. I miss the 2.0t up in the mountains. Down in the valley they are close enough. The extra 2-3mpg was nice though. We ended up with the 3.6L in our 2022xr after the 2019 2.0t was stolen as we were at the mercy of low inventory and the need for a replacement ASAP. That said, I bought a 2023 gladiator with the v6 too (huge incentives, couldn't go wrong). Both get the job done, one does it better. 63k miles on the 2019 without issues, 34k on the 2022 and 20k on the 2023 and they've been 100% reliable too.

Less options typically equal less sales, which equal less profit. Jeep may not be around in a couple of years.
Watch 25 GC sales numbers for a good indication if it’s 4cyl or 4Xe only. The V6, 3 levels of V8 power, and the diesel options of the WK2 all dropped.

Nah, I came from a Gen 1 3.6 with 4.88s and 37s and I wanted a Jeep that actually went instead of just making noises and pretending to go down the road. Drop a decent cat back on the 2.0 and it makes fun woosh noises when you boot it.
Speaking of which, is there a consensus choice for an aftermarket exhaust?

I haven’t had a 4x4 that made a decent noise since my old Xterra. The VQ40 with a manual sounded terrific. Liked to rev, too.

This is a mis-use of that saying though. The statement is meant to be read as "all other things being equal, there is no replacement for displacement". When you compare the 3.6 to the 2.0, all other things are definitely NOT equal.

The saying has endured because it's true. Comparing very different motors does not change that.
Oh, sorry. I didn't see the asterisk on that guy's tattoo.

And I'm going to have to disagree on this one. Most people use that statement to explain why X is better than Y with no consideration of Z.

Nah, a turbo 4 sounds like a turbo 4 so not a lot of players out there. I went with the Magnaflow Rock Crawler because it's light and tucks up high. Gets rid of both the stock resonator and muffler. It doesn't sound offensive, but it doesn't sound amazing. Recommend the exhaust specifically for the clearance and lack of restriction behind the turbo, but not for sound.

Had the same exhaust on my 3.6 in my JK and it was rowdy there:

Bring me the good ol days when they made a V6 by chopping two cylinders off of a V8. My 3.9 Dakota sounded AWESOME... All 180ish Hp of it.

My 3.6 would leave it in the dust for sure, but doesn't quite have that sound.

Shit, the CTW has a 33 degree departure angle compared to 22 for the LC. It’s not even close.
Why are we comparing the tallest Subaru ever built? The comments were made in relation to the impreza, which is still low even after a 1.5" lift. The stock impreza has 5.1" of ground clearance, 13.5⁰ approach, 13.1⁰ breakover, and 16⁰ departure angles. The damn civic type r has a 15.9⁰ departure angle. Yes, that is LOW.

I can hear your turbo almost as far away as I can a straight piped F-250's.

Less so in person after burn in. In 8th gear you don't hear a thing. 2k RPM + it's there a little, but nothing spectacular or offensive.

We arent rock crawling the thing man none of that matters, what matters is keeping the floor boards from sanding through when you bottom out at 60+mph in gravel or sand.
