So I've found what I'm being told is a 2021 gladiator rear axle with electric disconnects. I've been searching for this for awhile to put on my 2022 JLU. How do I tell 1. Is it working 2. If the electronic disconnect is functioning (I plan on running simple aux switch when installed). 3. What the gearing is (would like 4.10)?

All of this while it's sitting on somebody's garage floor before I buy it :) this is asking a lot but appreciate any

If it has the factory disconnect, its an M220/D44 wide. Ask the seller what the gear ratio is, or get the VIN of the vehicle it was removed from. Once you get your hands on it. Simply rotate the pinion 4.10 turns while holding one axle still and verify 1 full revolution of the axle shaft. There isn’t a good way to check operation of the e-disco in n a crate, it’s not as simple as a solenoid with power/ground.

That axle will not fit in a JLU without a lot of work as the mounting brackets are completely different.

The front axle is a bolt in swap but the rear suspension on a Gladiator is not the same.

After looking at the pictures I think the seller doesn’t even know what he has, that looks like a Wrangler axle because the shock mounts are on the rear of the brackets, on a Gladiator they are on the front.

You never said what the price was but buying an incomplete axle could quickly end up more expensive than you thought.

IMO I would keep looking for a complete axle.
