Uggggh...2020 JLURD. Well, I'm on the dealers list to replace the HPFP and got the call to schedule the replacement. They also want to do the DEF flash.
This this thing runs SO GOOD (for over 60k miles), I reluctantly scheduled the recall repair. I sure hope it comes back as good as it left.

What is the consensus here with those who have had the new pump and DEF flash done. Actually, I'm really hating the thought of this being done...I'd had hoped they would not get to me.

Had mine done awhile back. No apparent issues ATM. Just came back from a trip of about 3K miles. I got 25.2 mpg on the way out to Moab and 22.5 mpg on the way home from Silverton CO. Had constant, nasty winds on the way home. The routes were also different. These averages were by computer tally, NOT actual paper and math. I am attaching a link of my original IN TOWN mpg from way back in the day when I 1st bought it. GL! https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/interesting-mpg-comparison-so-far.71519/

I'm at 57k. Had the hpfp done. Also had an oil leak at the timing cover repaired at the same time.

The dealer i used does a lot of commercial diesel sales/service. Got to talk to the tech and he seemed very confident in the repairs.

I notice nothing different except for the sticker under the hood!

Good luck to you!

Thanks guys! It's reassuring to hear it did not effect performance or mileage. With all the hate mail these diesels get, I must say, I have been nothing but extremely pleased and happy with my rig...the only exception would be the overheating while pulling hard...This rig prolly has 40k miles pulling a 5k LB travel trailer to off grid camping, 65k total.

Thanks for the feedback!

I felt the same as you, the Jeep was running great so I didn't want them messing with it, but I had started getting injector errors so I scheduled it for the recall. I had mine done (fuel pump and DEF flash) at Wade in St. George, UT. They did a good job, so far no issues after about six weeks. No noticeable change in mileage but it hasn't been long enough to tell if there's any change in DEF usage. Good luck with yours.

No issues after having mine done other than the introduction of the after-shutoff whine that was apparently supposed to be there all along.

What's the DEF flash?

Hey 👋 2022 JLURD here.
Had my HPFP replaced approximately 20,000 miles ago. I'm now at 38,500 miles
I also spoke with the tech before he did the work. I suggest doing the same. I felt very confident after speaking with him and inspected my Jeep after install. No issues so far 🙏
Btw MPG's, no noticeable difference after swap. I continue to use Hotshots everyday treatment at fill ups. I also replace the fuel filter every 7500 miles. Its easy & inexpensive
Regarding DEF flash? What is that? Not on my recall, nor any issues
Best wishes 👍

When I had mine, the pump itself was good before and after replacement. Make sure they reconnect all the injector harnesses.

I had the DEF reflash performed about 18 months ago. Some folks reported an increase in DEF usage. No sure if that was based on data, or opinion. For me there was no change in DEF consumption. Early this year, the dealer replaced my HPFP. There was absolutely no change in fuel consumption, power or driveability. Except for the repair order, it was transparent that the HPFP had been replaced.

Well there's your first mistake, when the recall said "jump!" You said "how high?"

Dealerships aren't there to solve your problems, they're there to create more!

I give your Jeep another year or two until It bricks! :crying::captain:

So...if one refused the recall and the pump shits the bed cratering the entire fuel system, who's on the hook for the repair bill...the owner who refused the service or MOPAR who offered the service that was refused.

I'm guessing the Stellantis lawyers would have a fast answer, and I'm also guessing it would not go well in my favor. Always be cautious of internet influencers...who distribute Bud Light

I'm not sure why you mentioned Bud Light. Maybe you, for whatever reason, promote cancel culture?

Your bio said beer distributor. I assumed judging from your reply to the thread that you were a Bud light distributor... Lol
Don't be offended, I'm just teasing around! Got nothing better to do right now.

Note that I'm not a Bud Light distributor, but thanks for trying?
