Hello Fellow Eco-Diesel Owners ?
2022 JLURD/Ordered Jan 2022/arrived Feb 2022
Currently @30,500 miles
Regarding HPFP recall, for those of you curious or waiting
Ordered the part back in September. Followed up once a month, part finally arrived this Monday/approximately 6 mos
Scheduled installation Wednesday (yesterday) dropped off 8am
Finished by 3pm. Also had my Fuel Filter replaced ($50) and free tire rotation done at same time

I was going to do filter replacement myself, however for $50 bucks, worth it to me while they had on lift

Spoke with mechanic prior to install as I had a few questions
Pump looked identical. He couldn't answer what the difference was. No worries, I still haven't heard what the difference between the CP4.2 vs New recall pump actually is
I don't care, as long as this pump stays reliable
Warranty on new pump apparently falls under factory warranty
5yrs/100,000 on powertrain
If im wrong, feel free to correct

Should I continue to use Hotshots Diesel Additives? Answer was, couldn't hurt.
I'm going to continue to use. I believe it will be beneficial for longterm performance

So far, i don't notice any significant drop in fuel efficiency or performance.
Hopefully, this also remains for long time as well

Lastly, my Brake Pads @ 30,000 miles were roughly/8-9mm
Still in great shape. Looks like it's around the 50,000 mile mark pads will be needed.

I'm happy so far & pleased with service I received and love my Jeep

My JLURD went in yesterday morning to Dick"s of Wilsonville for the pump replacement. The same parts list appears on my invoice. The service advisor said the new pump is a CP3. Time will tell if I notice a difference in performance.

Was wondering how you got fuel filter replaced for $50 until I read the invoice, you supplied it. Was it an OEM? If not surprised the dealer installed it.

I wouldn't trust a dealer monkey to know the difference between a CP3 and CP4.

Hey ?
Glad urs is finished. How long was your wait?
regarding performance. Im on my newest tank of gas, with reset mpg
looks same so far city driving 25mpg+++
No performance difference noticeable yet
regarding your service advisor
I respectfully disagree with your service advisor. The pump I looked at with my Tech & Service Advisor together in the install bay, was definitely a version of the CP4
What specifically is different? Not a soul on earth knows...lol
As long as it lasts long time, I'm cool
Love my Diesel

Hey ?
If they supplied the filter AND replaced for $50, now that's a deal lol
I brought my Doc's Diesel filter, same company I use for the Oil Filter changes, that I now do myself.

Here's the link below

Btw, That's the 2nd time I've had the Fuel Filter replaced for $50 while on the lift
2nd Doc's Diesel filter. Looks identical to the mopar to me. Fair enough price
Delivered on time, packaged well. I've been pleased with their Filters
1st time was during my free oil change. It made sense to do at same time in my opinion and the service advisor agreed
I offered $50, they said yes
I'm getting around more slowly these days, so it's worth @ $50 lol

I had mine replaced last month. It wasn’t due to failure. However, the jeep idles differently now. It doesn’t idle at a fixed RPM as it used to. It goes up and down. Additionally, it has been idling rough after a startup within an hour of being previously driven.
another thing we noticed that is SIGNIFICANTLY different (but unrelated) is the electric hum after shutting the jeep off. It is much louder than it used to be.
other than that, no noticeable difference in performance or MPG…

Sry to hear your idling issues & noise issues
Tough to diagnose via internet
However, could be several things
Defective HPFP, Bad Tank of Diesel, Fuel Filter needs replacement or Bad Turbo?
Are you using any fuel additives? Hot Shots is what I'm using
Could help with Bad Diesel/Idling
The electric hum you hear is the Turbo fan, should have nothing to do with HPFP replacement.
Did you take back to Dealership? I would, specifically if the idling is significant
Best wishes

Glad to hear you had a good experience. Mine was mixed, took 3 weeks to schedule for mine and I almost lost my shit when at drop-off the advisor said he wouldn't have the parts because I didn't give them enough notice, but at least he checked and they did...

I haven't noticed any difference in mine either, but when I changed my fuel filter this past weekend I noticed priming was significantly harder. Took about 20 runs (almost 3x the previous changes) before it 'sounded' ready to try a start.

Nice that they only charged you $56 to change your fuel filter, mine quoted $300 with me providing the OEM filter or $450 if they provided the filter. Sounds like you have a better dealer!

Thanks for the advice. I'm not really looking for troubleshooting but rather providing my take on the process. I plan to take it in if the idling doesn't improve. The turbo fan noise is expected but struck me as off by how loud it got immediately after we picked it up. I'm sure its unrelated. Just weird.
Have a good weekend!
