my issue happened to be the hose coming off the pump. There's another hose coming off the master cylinder with a sensor in it. That was the first hose they replaced with the second vacuum pump.

If you're having issues like I had, unless they test each part, they'll need their district tech to test/monitor the system and figure out what is off. Up to the point of the tech coming, they kept throwing parts at it thinking it was this or that. IT wasn't until they actually identified the issue (vacuum pump unable to pull enough vacuum to turn itself off) that they were able to fix it. I did about 200 mile Friday and another 70 yesterday without any issues (in addition to a couple short trips during the week last week). Star case 34582353 if they need/want a reference.

So glad you got it figured out... Just bought my wife a JLUR and were going through the same issue. Had the Service Electronic Stability light come on @250 miles, 360 miles 470 miles, every time it comes on when the car shuts off it clears the message. Well got an appointment @dealer and took in and they replaced the vacuum pump. Well driving home from dealer it went off again @640miles. I called them back and have another appointment to drop off tomorrow. Its came on twice since replaced vacuum pump and im still under 1000miles. I hope they can get this resolved.

is it your Electronic Stability Control malfunction indicator light (the one with squiggly lines) or the malfunction indicator light (better known as the check engine light) that looks like an engine?

I've had both - the ESC light was related to the brake booster vacuum pump system (code C125292) and was fixed by replacing the hose off the vacuum pump (pump wasn't pulling enough vacuum to shut itself off, ran hot, and threw a code). My "check engine light" threw the P0456 code (evap system small leak). For the P0456, I think they just cleared it the first time and, the second time, it's been in a couple days as they replaced the ESIM - expecting it back today.

you may want to get the codes pulled (if you want to know sooner than later what's going on) or just take it in and let them figure it out.

Took delivery of my 2018 and of the 19 possible days to drive it, has been in the dealership service (DS) for all but 6 of them. Of those 6, only TWO days have been without a service ESC light and the auto start/stop malfunctioning. Thus far, DS has come up with codes and Chrysler directive to replace vacuum pump, then an ABS module and during DS test drive, ESC light came on again so my Jeep is once again up on the DS hoist for RO #3. All this, if you read above, in the 19 days since I took delivery of the Jeep.

Case has been escalated per Chrysler arbitration process and my Attorney is waiting in the wings.

As a diehard Chevy Silverado fan, I am sorely disappointed with my Jeep adventure.

And here I have mastered the Jeep Wave and was ready to put my understanding of the hierarchy of said wave, into practice.

Bummed in Michigan.

Today is day 82 of ownership for me and day 43 it’s been sitting in service (not consecutively). I should get mine back Monday meaning it will have been in service for 45 days out less than 90. Get your dealer to call in their district Jeep tech/engineer. As soon as they did that, the esc issue was resolved. Your dealer is just doing what FCA tells them to do by throwing parts at the issue rather than finding out why the issue occurs.

For what it’s worth, my dealer didn’t call in the district tech/engineer until they had tried 5 times and failed.

Perhaps you have already attempted this, but could it possibly be that the fuses aren't seated properly? I had the same indicators come on, and properly seated the fuses until I heard a click. Never saw the lights again.

I just changed my wheels and tires on Saturday. I've never had a light come on until then and I believe it's due to the wheels not having the TPMS sensors in them. The wheels are from a JK Rubicon Recon and my friend took them out and re-used them. The ESC, Low Pressure and ESS fault lights came on as soon as I left the driveway. I'm going to have my original TPMS installed and see if it clears.

FYI- I noticed in the manual the other day that there is a manual park override cable under the plastic cover just forward of the shift lever. Not sure if that pertains to your issue.
The same message came up on mine 2 days ago. 576 miles on it. The transmission was stuck in P. Wouldn't shift at all. I couldn't even get off of ACC to OFF. It would start though. My Jeep sat there the entire night with all the dashboard lights on. Had to have it towed to the dealer. When the dealer looked at it they couldn't figure out what the problem was. They called Chrysler to troubleshoot and they couldn't even figure out the issue. The dealer called me to day and said Chrysler wants them to rip the transmission out and send it to them so they can troubleshoot. I don't how I feel about tearing into a brand new Jeep. I hope to come up with a solution tomorrow when I talk with the dealership. I will keep you posted. This is the first Jeep I have ever owned. Here is Chrysler's chance to either become a hero or they may have a not so happy customer. To be continued...

See post on this thread from Saturday at 1:11 AM for the back story.

Update: JLU driven home by dealership Service Dept Manager. ESC light came on for him on his way home. Again on his way in to work the next day.

FCA solution as of yesterday was to hook up my JLU to the computer alongside a similar JLU and compare readings.

The resources this JLU is tying up are ridiculous. FCA needs to concede defeat and send the lemon back to Auburn Hills to the Techs so they can work on it themselves.

Dealership and I deserve to move forward, we have done our due diligence.

@GOOD4U - that's what the district jeep tech ended up doing with mine. Hooked it up to get readings on everything and determined the vacuum pump wasn't pulling enough vacuum. I hope yours gets resolved soon. Mine has been fine since they replaced the hose on the pump side. My dealer made 5 attempts before calling in the tech. Once the tech came, it took a day to figure it out. The service department at my dealership did nothing to figure out what was causing the problem (due to lack of proper equipment or otherwise), only what FCA told them to do (throw parts). Mine sat waiting 3 weeks for the master cylinder side hose (one with a sensor in it) - this actually did nothing. Tech came the next business day (a Monday) and I picked it up Tuesday morning.

Mine has had all FCA fixes attempted (vacuum pump and ABS module and one faulty wiring connector) and has continued to fail. Last word was 24 hours ago when I was told the Jeeps were being computer compared simultaneously with Auburn Hills Tech on the phone.

Legal counsel on standby.

Thank you for your input though, I appreciate it!

Im hoping mine is fixed...fingers crossed. Picked it up last Tuesday and Thanks to skrubi I gave them a list of what he had done, after my 3rd time to dealership. They replaced the vacuum pump, the 2 hoses, then the ABS module. So far so good. Ive put 500 miles on it since and the ESC light was coming on daily after driving for 20mins or within 15miles. Thanks for the list skrubi.
