Just a small drop of Blue Loctite should keep them from loosening, but since I take them out regularly, I just torque them to the spec'd 14 Ft-Lbs.
Thanks for posting the torque spec for these bolts. Where did you find this?

Thanks OP. My 23 JT, only 2k miles, and the the one furthest left on the driver side wasn't even finger tight, completely lose. It never rattled, but I'll be darned, once tight it reduced wind noise a little bit!!

Wifes 21, all 4 were already tight, but I've never touched them.

Someone mentioned the speaker grills in the sound bar, all 8 in both were loose too.

I was in the back cleaning the interior windows and while doing that I remembered the same post you read in regard to the 2 speaker grills on the sound bar. Got out a Torx driver and checked mine and...... all 8 were quite loose.

Somewhere on here, I believe. I'll see if I can locate it. I downloaded the whole thing and edited it down to my needs.

i checked the windshield bolts on my '21, and they were all solid.

i have also been using the single-screw visor reinforcement screws plate, and they've worked fine. (that was the only kind i knew of when i got mine years ago.)
i did, however, find the replacement screw on one of those coming a little loose; the original screw was fine.

Thanks, I found the single screw version so a i’ll try that first. According to the amazon reviews it works well.

The original screw is long enough for the new bracket? So far mine seems to be holding.

at least on the kit i got some years ago, only one of the screws was replaced; the other was re-used.
the original, reused one is the one that's still holding tight for me. go figure!

(i had to update that earlier post of mine; i should know better than post before the second cup of coffee has kicked in!)

Geez now I'm going to go check every visible bolt inside my Jeep. Thanks for that.

Checked mine. Middle ones were tight. Driver side tightened 1/8 of a turn, passenger one was really loose. Snugged it up. Thanks!!
UPDATE: No creaking on the way to work this morning!!

There are four recessed T40 bolts, two on either side of the upper windshield (inside the cabin). They tend to work loose and cause mysterious rattles. The wrench in the green canvas Jeep tool kit will fit. Take a moment and tighten yours.
Thank you for this! Geezo, my two outer bolts were ridiculously loose. Inside two were tight. We'll find out in the morning if that helps eliminate one of a few rattles that developed following a recent trip to Arkansas where we did a fair amount of off-roading. Either way, these needed tightening. Thanks again! ?
