I originally had them on both, but the ones I had, both were hitting the hinge hole at the same time? And honestly, a little bit of OCD. I didn't like how far out of the hinge the top pins were hanging, like an eyesore against my black JT. The bottom ones aren't as easy to see and only stuck out...
What competition? Only real comparable vehicle to the Wrangler is a Bronco, and those aren't cheap either. Everything else would stack up against the Grand Cherokee.
I did like the original KJ Liberty, that was a capable and fun little vehicle people slept on. The KK and KL, ehhhh.
You put them in the top or bottom? I got the set of 8 and split them between my JT and Wifey's JL. I actually found them more useful being on the bottom hinge, but that's just me.
Same in Ohio, just the rear view up on the windshield satisfies the law. I thought with doors and top off I'd have plenty of visibility just turning my head, but I can tell you, you can hide an entire miata on the passenger side below the rear tub wall. It's even worse on the JT.
