Carb upgrade for better performance?

No ya see, the rubber plus would plug the hole when not in use. Now in regards to the drink falling through, it most definitely would. I forgot they were flat fenders.

Nah, you put a longish strap across the bottom of the hole, to support any size cup.

You could even put holes in the strap to adjust height, and attach your rubber stopper to the bottom! Just push down to use, and pull it up to plug.

If you're disconnected, the shock extension will limit droop. Tire size doesn't matter, and lift height just identifies how much droop you've used at ride height.

No, it's a piggy back computer. Gets installed and stays on the vehicle.

If your talking about C.A.R.B. Then yes, replacing that completely backwards bureaucracy would most likely provide much better performance long term.

Double pumper, of course. None of that vacuum secondary junk.

You're going to get a lot of flack for that one. Nothing has been carburated for over 20 years. That said, you can get better throttle response and performance form a tuner like SuperChips TrailDash3. You'll get that and a bunch of other cool features. There are other tuners out there, but I don't use those so I can't speak to them.

CA has the highest gas tax in the nation, trying to force us to go electric. I don't think they tax the e85 the same, thus the huge discrepancy.

When is the last time you saw E85 here in CA. I’m in central CA. too and the last time I saw it was about 10 years ago? Admittedly I haven’t looked for it but I haven’t been to a station that has it or seen it advertised? Just curious if you knew that it was actually still sold here.

I know of 4 stations at least that I've happened to stop at on my commute, all in the bay area. The sunoco station has e85 and race gas all the way up to 110 octane ($8ish/gal). A quick search shows 6 locations in fresno, 3 in Modesto, and 1 in Tracy.

For some features it needs to stay connected, for others it does not. It needs to stay connected for things like enabling lockers in 2hi and 4hi, swaybar disconnect in 2hi and 4hi, rock lock, tpms disable, any of the "on demand" features from the crawl screen. Adjustments made to the engine and transmission tune, disabling auto start/stop, adjusting tire size, and adjusting gear ratios don't require it to stay connected. If you just want tune enhancements and don't want the gauge screens and on-demand features you don't need a TrailDash. They make other less expensive devices for just modifying the tune and setting options.

Computer controlled vehicles are tricky. You get a pretty good increase in hp from just the tune, but there are also the perceived gains because computer controlled vehicles have "torque management". Your gas pedal isn't connected to the engine anymore. The gas pedal is just a sensor wired to the computer now. When you stomp on the gas pedal it's merely a request tot he computer to open the throttle on the engine. The computer can and will decide how much to actually open the throttle to "manage torque". Tuning devices almost always lower the torque management settings in a tune while also tweaking the tune for better performance and power. While I love me old school carbureted engines and can tune the hell out of Holley carbs, computer controlled fuel injected engines just make more power and run better.

Besides, have you priced a carburetor lately? LOL $500 for a 750 vacuum secondary.

It would be more worth it to do a full engine and transmission swap at that point. Throw a 318 and a 3 speed Torqueflite in there and it will run all day. lol

And frequently KEEP ON running when you turn it off!

Thanks- few and far between but they are around. Certainly not enough to get an E85 tune

Wasn’t smart enough to do a search. Just read his post and reacted. Still, it will be easier to find a charging station for the upcoming electric Jeep than E85 for so tuned one
