I have spent countless hours listening to exhausts on YouTube I have narrowed my options down to two:
  • Magnaflow Overland Catback
  • Magnaflow Overland Axleback
I want the Catback but it doesn’t show up on Magnaflow’s website as fitment for 2024 yet.

@Magnaflow any idea when you will test/determine fitment for the Overland Catback #19592 for a 2024 JLU Rubicon X Auto trans, 3.6l gas engine, with 35” wheel package?

Deep, throaty sound on acceleration, with no drone + stock sound at highway cruise were my criteria. Plus the @Magnaflow build quality and materials seem to be top notch.

Happy with the Mopar (Corsa) dual muffler. It was a bit loud (it comes only as the "sport" version) so I contacted Corsa and they sent me the additional small muffler that turns it into the
touring" type. Sounds like an Alfa Romeo GTV6. I do not have the chrome tips attached so the exhaust will not make contact with anything. It looks clean.

When I had my 3.6 2-door, I did a Magnaflow axle-back on it. Really liked the look of the dual exhaust and black tips, plus a more throaty sound that was a but louder w/o being crazy loud.

I second this as it is what I have on mine also. My only issue with it is the inner tails turned an ashy grey/white after a while. I have since painted with a high temp ceramic and it hasnt happened again. It sounds amazing (for a 6cy) with no drone.

Oh make it three, I think the Magnalflow is great, especially coupled with an intake. Pretty much makes the 3.6 sound as nice as it can imho.

I don’t bother with the intake this time. I have messed with many a vehicle and added intakes. Never truly noticed a difference.

You never noticed a sound difference adding an intake? What intake did you use cause that has never been my case.

I went with MBRP dual exhaust and am happy with the sound and quality. A bit louder when you get on it but quiet when cruising. Keep in mind that even though it lists it as stainless steel, SS 409 has an iron content of 90% and can still rust, although not as bad as aluminized. Many manufactures list the muffler portion as 409 and the tips as 304. 304 is actually rust proof. I coated my muffler and pipes with high heat clear prior to installation.

Noticed a sound difference of course. I meant in performance and/or efficiency gains. At least not in most applications. My 13 SS Camaro had gains but it was also tuned with other mods.

I did the Borla cat-back climber touring and love it. Zero drone and perfect level of aggression with it being a V6. There are more aggressive sounding systems, but I’ll compare it to my V8 Borla and will only be disappointed. So I went with a well balanced, simple set up that deletes the massive factory muffler and tucks up nicely. I used to care about nice exhaust tips, but prefer the hidden style now as it’s one less thing to clean or worry about if it gets dinged/damaged.

Trying to decide between this Borla or the Magnaflow Overland Catback

Do these fit 2024?

Did a quick look on Borla’s website and they don’t show a 2024 option for the JL. Thought the changes to the 2024 were just the interior, but maybe there were other changes and Borla wants to confirm fitment. I imagine they won’t be waiting too long to release an option.

As far as Borla vs Magnaflow I’ve had both. They are each good quality, can’t go wrong with either. Both of those are high tuck, mild noise increase options so if that is what you want it’s just a matter of brand preference/price. Borla is about $200-300 cheaper.
