Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

This a rough thread to read. My door hinges are bubbling and one has cracked paint. I bought used from CarMax a year ago so I’m assuming I’m in for an uphill battle with local dealers taking on the job. My in service date was 9/19 so I have until September to find a dealer to take it on.

Under the TSB are they removing the hinges and putting a spacer between the doors and hinges before painting?

No. There are new, redesigned hinges that come with a zinc shim.

?‍ Didn't make much sense to me either but I've been told this by multiple dealerships. I did have a case opened by JeepCares and I stated my concerns to the rep on my case and he didn't state that the dealerships' statements were incorrect. He is trying to get the parts expedited and I am hopeful it'll all get wrapped up before the warranty expiration. If not, I won't simply open my wallet.

Can somebody give me the TSB that talks about new hinges w/shims? I have one that details the painting process, but not hinge/shim replacement.

No. There are new, redesigned hinges that come with a zinc shim.

I am experiencing bubbling around the bottom of my hood. Not on any hinges. I thought I was lucky until now…. I have 38k miles. Since I no longer have the bumper to bumper coverage will this still covered by the tsb? Does anyone have the most up to date tsb for all panels not just the hinges?? Thank you.

The corrosion warranty is good for 5 years, unlimited mileage.

that one seams to be just for the new hinges they came out with. I’m needing a tsb that shows everything since I only have it on my hood. Not on any hinges. Thank you

What does that mean for me? No paper work so if my warranty expires before then am I SOL. Do I need to get documentation from them? How do I go about getting that?

"The List" probably goes in the round file. I'd totally find a different dealership they seem like they don't want to deal with it.

Of the three Jeep dealerships around here they are the only with a body shop. Do you recommend I talk to Jeep Cares? What other ways can I get paperwork?

I don't think they need an in-house body shop to perform the repair, usually "dealership groups" only have a body shop at one of their dealerships which pulls in all the work from the group for all makes. If you like the dealership tell them that you would like documentation for "warranty purposes", if they don't oblige find a dealer who will.
