It looks like it's about time for me to finally replace the original main battery. Any thoughts on what's the best choice when prioritizing longevity / durability over cost?

And yeah, I'll finally rip out the aux when I replace the main. Fortunately it's supposed to be simple with the EcoDiesel.

I have been running Full Throttle for about 8 years now in my rides.
I was running XS for years. Then I learned that the FT factory makes XS. I saved a few bucks.
All our rides run a lot of audio, they have never let me down.

I put an Odyssey Extreme 27F in both my Gladiator (3.6) and my JL (2.0T). Biggest main I could find that fit. Working great.

That said, the EverStart Maxx batteries sold at Wal-Mart are recurringly well-rated. I purchased one such battery years ago, and it provided excellent service.
According to Project Farm on YouTube, the EverStart AGM was tied for the top spot in his testing with the one from Johnson Controls. Care to guess who makes the EverStart AGM lineup for Wal-Mart? That's right, Johnson Controls.

I just bought an EverStart AGM (850 CCA) last week when my Mopar battery died. $200 OTD less $12 if you bring the core back.

I have to check if the 3.6 JL can handle the slightly taller Extreme battery. I think it is maybe 1.5" or 1.7" taller maybe. Great call on that. Everstart is my next choice.

I would make sure that whatever you choose, to source it locally in the event the battery is defective. No hassles with shipping and claims that way.

i chose the best batts i could get from the supplier most likely to be where i was most likely to be.
a warranty isn’t any good if you can’t get a replacement where/when you need one. in my case, it was Super Starts, from O’Reilly auto,

(and changing the batts on the diesel is a piece of cake through the trap door; it’s the way it should be on all configurations.)

Same here. I’ve found that their batteries last 3x longer than OEM batteries that I’ve replaced. That’s about 6 years, as most OEM batteries I’ve had last 2 years.

Yep, the Super Starts premium AGM H7, from O’Reilly auto. This is the only Battery that seems to last for several years in our Phoenix heat!

My research pretty much said the EverStart Platinum couldn't be beat for the money when I replaced mine about 2 months ago. Warranty and availability are excellent with very good ratings on the battery itself as well.

While my JL has 2 Odyssey batteries in it, I've had better luck with Duralast Platinum batteries. Had 2 go 8 years until they showed signs of weakness.
