I've had no signs of battery issues, but I have 38K miles on my jeep and live in extreme heat parked outside. I'm wondering if I should just preemptively change it to avoid any issues?
My wife's went 3 yrs/36k and was fine at lease turn in. Mine went a little over 3 yrs/24k and died with absolutely no warning. Both were 4xes but had the same H6 12V battery as ICE Jeeps. Live in Florida so plenty of heat... I replaced mine with an H7. From what I gather from other's stories I got pretty lucky getting that much life out of them.

A dead battery in our normal use is generally just an inconvenience. If you have any concerns of being stranded or not in a good place to get it replaced easily then I would suggest replacing sooner rather than later.

It looks like I will just replace my main battery and then I think I will delete my aux battery since I don't think the dealership will replace it just because I ask them to.

So I just need to replace the main battery since I presume it will be going at any moment with 38K miles on it?
Correct, you only have a single 12v battery. How old is your Jeep? I wouldn't be nearly as concerned with miles as age. If it dying on you at an inopportune time is a serious concern for you, then I'd say anytime after 2-2.5 years wouldn't be money wasted even if it's not currently showing any issues.

You never know- my 15 GC’s original battery was replaced about a year ago. But without any warning like sluggish starts, just barely, and I mean barely started when running an errand, I didn’t shut it off and went directly for a battery. 🤷🏼‍♂️

In addition to the vehicles, I've got 2 boats and a golf cart. I buy batteries made by Deka/East Penn. There are many rebadged batteries made by them. The last battery I bought for my little boat was a Deka rebadged and sold by West Marine. Just research who makes the battery you are looking to buy....

Tough call... I'd say it's up to you and how you feel about an unexpected dead battery and how much $200-250 matters to you. I've seen tons of reports of dead OEM Mopar batteries between 1 and 2 years old but my personal experience was 2 that both went beyond 3 years.

My only fear is being 200 miles from civilization which happens often living in Utah.

In that case, personally, I'd probably replace the OEM at 2 years and then a quality aftermarket every 3-4. Or consider keeping a high end NOCO or similar with you, but I've never done any real research on them, their lifespans and/or maintenance required.

The battery on my new 2021 Willys Sport died at about the 6 month mark. Fortunately I discovered this state of affairs in my garage. Without hesitation I bought a Genesis dual battery system.

When mine died it wouldn't crank with my big-ass fully-charged portable starter battery.

A guy in a RAM stopped at our campsite to help and came out grinning with a little one that he said would start 10 to 15 vehicles. Still wouldn't crank.

It finally started with jumper cables.

EverStart seems like the most cost effective solution with easiest to claim warranty with Walmarts everywhere. So the H7 is the bigger battery over stock?
