Hey All, I’m still going over my new to me 22’ Willy’s. I recently pulled fuse 42, disconnected AUX neg battery cable and installed a Maiker Auto Stop Start disabler.

I’m trying to figure out the manufacture date of my main battery. I’ve googled it and damn if I can find the date code.

Anyone here see the date code?

I copy / pasted that pic into ChatGPT. It couldn't find anything indicating a date.

It then said
If you can share a close up of the top edge or any stamped characters in the plastic, we can decode it precisely.

Thanks I tried to look on the sides for any stamped characters but can't see any with the battery installed. I'll have to pull it out and take a proper look. Thanks for trying! :)

It's def an OEM battery and that's my concern with the Jeep being a 22 with a delivery date in Jun 22. It's likely time for a new battery (sooner than later)

Just wrote a post about this on Saturday. The date code on all batteries manufactured by East Penn is pin routed on top. Two digit year, one letter for month, two digits for day.

I'm pretty sure I read your post, I just didn't see anything on my battery that looked like a date code.

I'd say as other have use your manufacture date as an approx. But also understand that the lot of batteries Jeep bought in bulk to install could be much, much older than you 2022. Definitely by month but also years.
I wouldn't change anything unless you start having issue's. Which unfortunately seem to abound on this forum. Actually any forum, Four *4) years used to be the norm back0in-the-day but battery technology is much better now. Then again all the other systems in you car that continue to work and be on, even with the actual car "off:" ask a lot as well.
Unrelated, I'm getting 8 to 10 years out of my motorcycle battery's nowadays. That could never happen 10-20 years ago.

Rebel i have a 22 Willys recently purchased also, if that is the original battery you should at least have a H7 ready to put in there.

My 2022 Willys 2 door with tow package has the OEM H7. I pulled the aux battery which was starting to get weak. I did a load test on both and the H7 was still good with normal results and the aux was bad. I purchased my Willys new in May of 2022. I do use a BatteryMINDer on it occasionally that does the desulfating. I am guessing I will at least get 4 years plus out of mine.

Not likely your 2022 vehicle has an older battery given the COVID supply crunch was still an issue. My Jeep had an October 21 build date and had a Nov 1st battery. Seems like there may have been built 21s sitting around waiting on batteries on fall of 21. Any batteries bolder than 22 would have ended up in mine before Nov.
