I think the H-7 is the largest size battery that will fit in the stock battery tray. I also think that the tow group vehicles may have come with the H-7, and others may have an H-6. My 21 JLUR with tow , has a H-7. It also has the E-torque set-up. 3.6 and auto. Anybody else know for sure?

EverStart seems like the most cost effective solution with easiest to claim warranty with Walmarts everywhere. So the H7 is the bigger battery over stock?
That's correct, H6 or H7 will fit the OEM tray. If you had an H6 then you just remove a small plastic block in the bottom of it to fit the H7. Towing package got the H7, not sure if any other options also led to it being installed.

When mine died it wouldn't crank with my big-ass fully-charged portable starter battery.

A guy in a RAM stopped at our campsite to help and came out grinning with a little one that he said would start 10 to 15 vehicles. Still wouldn't crank.

It finally started with jumper cables.
Interesting. It sounds like your battery had a catastrophic failure and wasn't just slowly dying. Basically what mine did, but I didn't even bother trying to jump start it since I was lucky enough to be parked in my garage when it happened. Just hopped in the wife's car and went to grab a new battery as it measured about 6 volts when I checked it. Had driven it the night before with no problems, parked at home and had been plugged in and charging all day. No sense in anything but an immediate replacement on that one!

I put an Odyssey Extreme 27F in both my Gladiator (3.6) and my JL (2.0T). Biggest main I could find that fit. Working great.
I need my first after 3 years, did the 27 F’s extra 1.4” in height create any issues such as the cables being short or hood clearance ? Does it vent outside the vehicle like stock ? It would be an expensive mistake at ~2 1/2 X more than a standard H-7 like Everstart etc 🤔

I had no issues fitting it in either vehicle.

Napa is having a 20% off sale right now on their batteries. My 21 JLUR, 3.6 auto/e-torque with the tow package has starting giving me the "battery charging, aux switches not available" message on cold mornings. If I take it for a long drive, its fine for a few days and then it starts again, so its time to replace the battery.

Other than my winch I have my ARB on-board air hooked up to aux 4. thats really it.

the Odyssey is about $40 cheaper but also has to be ordered and shipped to me. Not sure how that would work with warranty - I guess I would have to call NAPA and find out. The Optima is readily available for pickup.

These guys sell on Amazon & have really good ratings. Best way is to buy direct from them & they have free shipping. They don't give a core refund, but you can take your core to Advance or Autozone for a $10 gift card. Their prices are outstanding.

In that case, personally, I'd probably replace the OEM at 2 years and then a quality aftermarket every 3-4. Or consider keeping a high end NOCO or similar with you, but I've never done any real research on them, their lifespans and/or maintenance required.
This is what I’ve done. Every mopar battery I’ve had has failed to go much further than 24 months. My 2 door 2.0 Rubi had (2021) both batteries replaced 1 year 7 months from ownership, and the second set started dying in a similar timeframe. I didn’t do anything about it and today it wouldn’t start. Out of 3/36 warranty obviously now — so going with a h7 ever start from Walmart for $180, and bypassing aux battery. Phoenix is rough on batteries, but my Porsche went 7 years without issue here. So I think it’s a Chrysler problem. Also my 2 door is bone stock.

My 392 went thru 2 batteries in 14 months, lol — first one failed at 300 miles. EcoDiesel gladiator had a tad better luck— but it’s starting to also give me the aux warning again. So that one’s up next— sold the 392.
