So…how’s the AEV build treating you so far? Are you loving the diesel?
Love everything about it other than not being able to see out the rear window. I'll probably remove the 10.2 gallon fuel tank and only put that on when we think we'll need it (possibly never??).

The diesel, so far, is awesome...especially with the 4.63 gears when I want to pass someone at 75 or so. 4.56-ish gears, 37s, and the diesel feel like a great combo (IMHO, of course).

They do lots of tweaks inside and out that make it feel special. The whole thing is really well thought out.

I definitely feel like I'm getting more Jeep waves than I did in my stock JLUR. That's kind of cool :).

You’re the only person I’ve seen with a regeared JLURD on 37’s, and you mentioned you tow a military trailer sometimes to camp. I’m very curious to see what your rig does in regards to oil temps and all that like we’ve been discussing in the diesel forum. You’ll have to keep us in the loop!

I've been dreading being a victim of that. I'm not at risk with these characteristics, right???
  • 37s
  • 4.63 gears
  • Weight: roof rack, RTT, skids, rock sliders, 37s, winch, fridge, overlanding gear
  • Trailer when the RTT isn't on the Jeep
  • Live at 7,400 feet and the majority of our trips go up through the Rockies
Yeah, I fear that I might be the poster child of what not to do. And yes, it's exactly what I wanted.

So, I think with you being geared properly you’ll be fine. I’d say keep your speed down and RPM’s up when pulling up a hill and see what happens. My money is on manageable temps and no issues. I’m leaning towards 4.10’s with 35’s on my JLURD and your setup will show if that is effective, IMO.

I would say get it on a scale and keep it within limits.

I think a lot of people in the 3.0 EcoDiesel Sub are naïve about how much stuff weighs and how little the GVWR is, especially for the diesel.

Mentality there seems to be: You mean I can't overload my Jeep, tow a 3,000 lb trailer, climb a 15% Grade @ 75 MPH while at 12,000-14,000 ft all at the same time? :ShockedPikachu:

It's difficult to imagine that it'll be within weight limits. My skid plates are aluminum and my bumpers are boron steel, so that should help a little.

Is there anyway you could check how many Gobi 2 door sport s manuals? Feel like I haven’t seen one in the forums, for sale, our out in the wild yet and I’m picking up mine in 2 days. Not sure if your query is that specific but worth a shot!
