When Installing this will I loose diff fluid? Wasn't sure with just two bolts.
4 bolts, but mine didn’t and I put them on and back off several times (feels like I’m jinxing myself as I’m typing this)

Ordered a set of the RC covers yesterday., the ebay Rough Country store has the best price that I found, $75 for the front and the back. Pretty heavy too, pkg info said 25lbs for rear & 15 for the front.
lol at the vehicle compatibility charts on the ebay listing though, unless Rubicon owners swapped their tasty Dana 44s for our lowly D30 & D35 diffs then they will have fitment issues :headbang: :headbang:

They also have the Rubicon skid plate on their own website. I would just order straight from the manufacturer and cut out the middle-bay.

I had mine installed and no problems. No leaks, I really haven't tested the skid yet.

I am interested in these but confused on their fitment guide. I have a sport with LSD so is a M220 rear axle per my build sheet. However the m220 rear diff skid plate from RC says ONLY for Rubicon... so are they wrong or what rear diff skid plate am I supposed to get?

You need the M220 (Dana 44) skid plate.

I agree that would make sense, I am just hung up on what they say on their website. Anyone out their already try the m220 one on a sport?

I also had to pull the front skid as it made contact with my oil pan/transmission skid plate support.

Got them installed, must say I'm 100% satisfied w/ the fit & function of these plates. No bending, prying or hard time trying to get everything lined up. All the cover bolts lined up perfectly, the retention hanger in the back of the plates secured the skids nice & tight, and the drain hole F&R also lined up just right!

I measured a before & after~ the lowest point at front diff was 11.25" from the ground, the lowest point on the skid was 10.5" so a 3/4" drop in clearance in front. The rear was 10.75" before and 10.25" after the skid was installed for a 1/2" loss in clearance, not bad at all :)

There is nice coverage over the rear driveshaft to pinion mount too. I used a floor jack to get the rear skid lined up as it is pretty heavy and wanted to make sure I had all 4 of those bolt hole lined up, worked out well. Only concern is if it's still ok to jack it up under the rear skid now, this thing is solid as a rock but being mounted to those 4 diff cover bolts I'm not 100% sure???

Anyone used a jack on the front plate? Pretty sure it would support it. Was just wondering.

I installed front and rear RC diff skid plates on a 2019 JLU 2L Sahara with Dynatrac 2" lift and the rear has interference with the 48V battery factory skid (driver side) just like the previous 2 door post. Removed it on the trail to stop the metal on metal tapping, need to grind it down and reinstall.

apparently the new ones have a notch for the 48v battery.
