Is this crazy? Got a rubicon x onorder but the strike….. so I was just shopping and there are some pretty good deals to be had for within 10k of my order so how many of you daily drive one? My commute is always different sometimes 0 miles sometimes 250 miles. Any of you feel wiped after your ?
commute ?is gas killing you? All thoughts welcome
And another question with the extreme 35 inch tire package do you get 456 gears and full time 4whl drive?

The ride is comparable to my GC in”sport mode” pretty damn good. Handling excellent for a Wrangler, so good I quickly determined I wasn’t touching the suspension. Steering also with wander nearly unnoticeable until ~80, by 85 I don’t like to cruise any faster. In town mpg sucks 10.5– 11.5, usually at the lower end but I bought it to enjoy, playful foot, use OR+ frequently and tap into manual shift as soon as attaining cruising speed and don’t tap it back until a stop or near stop to avoid MDS. I have made few semi long country hwy trips (no very long), but some have reported numbers approaching the V6 that takes throttle to maintain high speed especially on grades, you won’t even notice and be unintentionally over 80 often if cruise isn’t used. Expect about a 5mpg average loss but your sometimes longer commute will reduce the difference. My only issue with long trips is the hard seat, this might be solved with the 24’s seat….. Jeep Universal, still The World’s Most Versatile Vehicle ….. obviously impressed and recommend. ?

Mine is my daily and it’s a fantastic fun daily. Have also done multiple 11 hour+ road trips in it. The vehicle is very comfortable for a Jeep over these long distances. I would recommend seat jackets though it helped out a lot. Gas mileage is abysmal but who cares. On my long trips trying to hyper mile the car I believe I was able to get 16.5mpg all highway. My daily commute I usually average somewhere between 10-12 mpg.

Mines a fantastic ride but I wouldn't want to put that many miles on it. I don't commute in it but I'll take it on any funs with the family even if they're just to the beach.

2024 wrangler 392 here. Its my DD and I absolutely love it. The seats are comfortable, handling is great and dont have to fight it like with previous jeeps I’ve owned. The exhaust can get annoying on a long trip but that can be turned off. Wind noise is about what you would expect from a rolling brick.

Second what someone above said. Have to be careful or you’ll look away for a second and you will be doing 90. The power is relentless.

We have a Jeep XR and a very well kept, slightly modified Jeep Commander 4X4 trail rated...The Commander is what we drive any distance or if parking in an unsecured area. Commander is so much better on highway even though very stiff. XR has a rough time in wind and is very wide/wanders a bit which can be scary on tight, over congested city highways doing 70+ with people doing 80+/trucks/idiots...It is fine on open road if not windy. It will work but wouldn't be my choice.

My wife and I daily a 392 XR and a Sahara. Both are great in different ways and have been fun and reliable. Sure the gas mileage is not great, but the offset is the super driving experience.

if you buy a 392, plan on driving it all the time. It’s fun, comfortable and gets you where you want to be with a smile.

I want to see some of those deals that are 10k over the X. Please send me some links.

My DD is a TRX that gets 8.6 mpg and before that it was a modded E63S and before that a modded M5. They all got less than 10 mpg.

I assumed the 2024 Rubicon X would get a lot better mpg than what I am used to but it for a really low HP Jeep, it doesn't. It's my wife's DD but she doesn't really drive much except when we go to the trails.

I am in Medical Sales and my DDs are my office. I refuse to drive something that I don't love and I don't mind spending my time in so I ignore the MPG and enjoy my toys.

The XR is over a foot less wide than my DD. I feel like I can whip the Rubicon X through a pinhole.

Mine is a DD for a 20 mile each way commute in West Houston. Makes for a very entertaining drive, lots of fun. Mileage is 16.5 mpg so low but not a deal breaker.

I made the mistake of test driving one and now have a 2024 392 on order lol.

Next league power compared to my 3.6 and love the exhaust flexibility, loud mode for giggles and quiet for cruising.

Given my current setup with the 3 6 averages 12mpg I'm not particularly concerned with the mpg drop going to a 392.

This will be my new daily driver and wheeling rig.

cant wait.

good luck!

@wanderer - On balance it’s consistent so far. Remember- the TRX last call final edition was announced with little or no warning with a nice price and markup increase . The 392 is on borrowed time, it Will Happen . They Will Get Real Proud of all 392’s when it does. ⚠
