It's still a slug and slower than a number of other 4x4s. Congrats on spending $80,000 just to demonstrate how stupid that is.
I love people who like to spend stupid money to enjoy their life and upset you with it. That’s the best of all the stupid moneys.

There are some people out there that are jealous of other’s ability to HAVE the means to spend stupid money on things that make them happy.

Best to not indulge them in their jealousy.

I still love my 392 Brick.

I do have to add an addendum to my fuel economy. I was stuck in my first real traffic jamb yesterday. Went ~10 miles in 45 minutes. Stop and go. My rolling average dropped from 13.5 to 12.2 in that 10 mile stretch. So I can totally see single digits if you live in that hellscape. And I was driving as ‘nice’ as possible.

No 392 experience, but the wife daily drives her 2022 JLUR on 39s and has for 4+ years. Being that the 39s push fuel economy down to that of a stock 392 if not slightly worse at freeway speed I think it relates. Now if you have a long commute I'd argue the terrible fuel economy and rapid depreciation of a high mileage wrangler make it a bad choice, but I see plenty of lifted trucks making the same poor choice in commute traffic daily.

I know he's already banned but it's worth replying to. I can think of 1 other real 4x4 that's faster and that's an amg G wagen. At $200k it makes the 392 seem like a budget rig. Sure the EVs are way quicker, but they aren't really 4wd rigs. AWD is not 4WD. Thus the g wagen being the only real comparison as it's off road worthy and fast as hell. Of course you could demon 170 swap a wrangler on tons and still be well under the cost of the g wagen with way more off road capabilities will being faster too. Impressive that he got himself kicked in under 20 days, his presence was quicker than any vehicle ever made.

When I brought up the 392/ amg g wagen/ X5M (actually a GCSRT comparison) I saw he called me unpleasant names, like stupid, a fool, others received personal disparaging remarks. …. he had it coming

There are some people that can only feel good about themselves if they can make other people feel bad about themselves. They are usually immature and have no actual experience about the subject matter at hand. JCPM was that kind of person. Good riddance.

I'm thinking JCPM will be attending prom alone. The moderators did a good job steering him toward social etiquette.

I couldn't not daily drive my 392. I sometimes even open the door to the garage just to look at it. Yes, the cost was ridiculous, gas and maintenance are high, and you can pay $15,000 for a decent used commuter car. I love the Rubicon 392 also. But, I have to admit that them sitting on dealer lots is a great message to send to Stellantis.

I love my Jeep, but the idea of daily any Wrangler from A to B just does not interest me.
Depends on what that daily use is. My wife drives all of ~35 total miles per day. No need to buy another vehicle when the Jeep does that just fine and can still be used for wheeling trips on the weekends. Sure if you're pushing 100 miles per day it's probably time to buy a commuter car. My gladiator already sits in the driveway 95% of the time as I drive a company car during the week. No need to have 2 weekend only Jeeps holding down the driveway.

I always find people who feel it's their place to judge others absolutely fascinating.

Drive whatever the hell makes you happy. Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness and all that...

My JLUR and JT are not hemi-powered, but driving them brings me joy. I look forward to trips to the airport almost as much as I enjoy crawling around PNW trails and fire roads.

With that said, I choose to own an EV for most of those trips to the airport, and most of my daily driving.

It brings me Happiness of another kind (charging at home) - And it makes me enjoy the opportunities I have to drive the Jeeps even more.

Have fun, live life, and remember that everything is temporary.

If there was ever a reason to buy a 392 this is the reason, crazy cat repellent

I would venture to say this also applies to Jeep Girls who want soy boy repellant. (No 392 here, but I think the Willys decal may make up for that a bit.)

Agreed, sometimes I just look at my Jeep too, enjoy life as we can't take it with us! I also DD my Jeep, might as well enjoy it. :)

The city has a problem with ebikes using the EV chargers, I think it's more about them being fire hazards.

Ebikes are banned from all city buildings, and a lot of apartments and condos etc

I plug mine in in my basement only when I'm home and awake. There is a smoke alarm right above it.

Howdy YGBSM! Good to see you being a good influence here as well.

To anyone asking the question about a 392 Wrangler daily driver of any flavor. Yes, I know it's expensive. Yes, I know it gets shitty gas mileage. I know it's irrational, but at this point in life... EVERY time I fire it up, I love the burble and roar. Even if I'm only going to the office or grocery, every trip looking over that hood reminds me that I'm going an adventure. I got rid of a perfectly serviceable Lexus RX350 that was quiet, comfortable, and bulletproof... but I'm not dead yet, and LOVE my MOAB. Really looking forward to pulling the doors and top off this summer, and enjoying my second (third? fourth?) childhood. If others don't understand or can't afford it, fine. They can enjoy their bad life choices and drive their Yugo. Me, I'm pissing off the boring neighbors and giving rides to all the kids in the neighborhood who know it's the coolest thing EVER. I'm the bad influence uncle that the kids wish they had, with the neatest vehicle in town.

Can't wait to take it west of the Mississippi, only slightly concerned that I'll never come back. Still have my GI camping gear, and could live out of a rucksack again if opportunity knocked.

Did I mention it's RED? /evil grin.

If I still had the 130mi commute DD’ing it would be a tough decision. My previously mentioned attempt at an extra commute Honda a fail, after driving the wife’s Camry ~ 3 years I got a 4R and drove it until retirement. Uhh, the 4R was Not a fuel efficient vehicle, only ~ 2 more hwy mpg (but reg) than the 392.
