The 3A’s handbrake was so worthless it was replaced with a mod that fit and basically looked like the original but locked the actual brakes. That were also damn near worthless and typically replaced with Ford that were much larger but the same lug pattern and a simple swap. The Hurricane’s odd flathead exhaust- overhead intake with the manifold cast in the head , the carburetor mounted on top is why the 3B’s “High Hood” . To fit one in the 3A without cutting a hole in the hood as some did a very short Holley from a Falcon 6 fit by trimming the hood pinch seam for the carb bonnet. It loads up even worse, I got very good at 2 feet- 3 pedals. I’m used to it after 50 years experience. So glad I missed those carb days offroading. had them in my first few cars and sucked when on a hill trying to get going with a handbrake that was non existent.
