So glad I missed those carb days offroading. had them in my first few cars and sucked when on a hill trying to get going with a handbrake that was non existent.
The 3A’s handbrake was so worthless it was replaced with a mod that fit and basically looked like the original but locked the actual brakes. That were also damn near worthless and typically replaced with Ford that were much larger but the same lug pattern and a simple swap. The Hurricane’s odd flathead exhaust- overhead intake with the manifold cast in the head , the carburetor mounted on top is why the 3B’s “High Hood” . To fit one in the 3A without cutting a hole in the hood as some did a very short Holley from a Falcon 6 fit by trimming the hood pinch seam for the carb bonnet. It loads up even worse, I got very good at 2 feet- 3 pedals. I’m used to it after 50 years experience.

I thought I had a good go at the 3 pedals but think you take it to the next level. Only 34 years on my end.

Besides— No Modern Vehicle Remotely Sounds As Good as a 71 down with glorious sound of a big cam ! Hemi’s were at the top of that list too.

Well I traded a Hellcat Redeye Challenger for this 392 Jeep so scratch off the top 20. I wonder what the other 80 are?
I’ve got the big cam thing covered with my 555” big block chevelle.

I am green with envy.? My 69 1 of 500 HP GTX shook the walls , 6-71 Blown Chevy Willys Jeep certainly did too. Blown 454 Sanger V-Drive wasn’t bad either ( son’s now) . He!!- my HP solid lifter 283 with ~ the same HP as a penastar sounded good. I so miss the sound of a long duration- overlap cam. I had an a$$ hole neighbor who enjoyed calling the cops when I fired the boat up if I was working on it at 10.01 PM ? Hey— when are you finishing the BB ? your missing something, I can see the engine, where are all the hoses wires sensors valves pumps on and on. See- something’s wrong, it doesn’t look like this new Bronco engine

Hey guys, I get it yall need to justify your overly expensive purchase to yourselves.
The funny part about these "392 is stupid" comments is that most of y'all would have gotten a 392 if if it was priced the same as the lowest Wrangler trim and fuel costs were the same OR if money was no object to you. Then you'd go around justifying it by saying: "Yeah, you have to be a total moron not to get a 392 when it costs the same to own as a 4-cyl" :):):)

I like to keep the engines clean, simple & nothing to see here. Also easy to service between rounds.

Correct me if I’m wrong, as I recall the 318 & 360 were rated the same HP, the 360 with more torque though. workhorses, my son’s 318 (98 Dakota)was still running good, just burning a little oil at 328K mi when the trans failed…….. That’s Nice clean truck ?

318 Rated in 69 as 230 HP. It is not quite stock anymore. It is still original short block with a valve job to be compatible with unleaded fuel. Changed to a 4 barrel dual plane intake with a edelbrock 750 4 barrel. And long tube headers and dual 2 1/2“ exhaust.
