Love my 37’ and 2.5” lift. they have treated me and the Jeep pretty well this far. I am running 4.88 gears but I also have a manual transmission. Plenty of power for me. I have Had alot of good times on the trails with them. But there is more to getting 37’s on a Jeep than just a lift.. possibly truss kit installed. Over sized tire carrier, gears would be recommended, new set of wheels, better airing up compressor or CO2 power tank. Etc.

What brand of beads are you running?
I just bought a ceramic balancing beads from my local tire place. I do not remember the name. They came with a valve stem core that helps keep them out of the valve stem.

Before I take the financial plunge…
21 JLUR 3.6 Auto. Daily Driver.
Planning on AEV 2.5 lift with 37’s.
Currently running stock 4.10 gears. (Looking at 4.88 down the road)

I feel like with all the info out there, there isn’t enough.
Any regrets to going 37? Or running 37’s on a 2.5 lift?

As always, much appreciated.

I run this exact setup, AEV 2.5, 37’s, 4.88 with a 3.6/auto. No issues at all. No concerns at all. no rAgrets at all.

One thing that a lot of people don’t consider is “Wheel runout” Sometimes it’s not the tires. Sometimes the wheels have a side to side movement or wobble.
These machined aluminum wheels most prevalent today, rarely have much runout. But to your point, the tires themselves often do have quite a bit of runout, both laterally and radially.

I HAD two regrets. Both which I’ve since corrected.

The first is that I waited a year to re-gear to 4.88. Performance takes a bigger hit than you realize with 37s on 4.10s. The day you re-gear to 4.88 you realize your mistake.

The 2nd was that I went with Falken MTs. Now this wouldn’t be a regret if I lived back in my home state of Louisiana but, IMO, they are a total waste in Colorado. They’re also loud, have poorer on road handling, and suck monkey nuts in on road in the rain. Last August I moved to Falken AT3Ws and again immediately loved the change. My Jeep is a vastly improved vehicle with those ATs.

My advice to anyone going to 37s is to get the re-gearing done at the same time. You won’t regret that.

To hijack this thread again…. I just installed the Fox 2.0 ATS racing stabilizer. The shimmy is completely gone on the firmest setting. I still feel a little in the steering wheel, like it wants to shake its hips like Shakira but that thing is holding it solid. I didn’t feel like I was going to die on the test drive.

The Jeep definitely handles different now though, feels more sloppy or loose is the best way to describe it. Like I turn the wheel and it takes 2 seconds to turn. Made me think about turbo lag.

anyway, I’m getting closer to no regrets…. One expensive part at a time!

37s and a small lift is an excellent value sweet spot which will take you up 8 rated trails easily.
In fact I did Pritchet with mine too. After that it costs mega $$ and you dont gain that much.

I pretty much did all the Sand Hollow 8 rated trails with mine on 37 BFGs. The Maze, Unforgiven, Front Range, 777, Fawlty Towers, etc.

BUT anything less than 5.13 gears in the v6 is crappy IMO.
Exactly what I was thinking and why I went 2.5” and 37s. I think the JL was built to run 37s.

Sorry I didn’t see this thread sooner, not sure what part of CO you are in but PM me if you are still trying to figure out if tire/wheels are the issue. I have the same setup you are running for comparison.

What may be happening is the steering damper is so stiff the power steering is moving the axle within the limits of your trackbar's bushings and flexibility. Or some other component of your steering system is also loose.

KMC Roswell wheels. I purchased a new one, because no matter what tire I mounted on that rim, roadforce balance indicated 45 or higher. I swapped the new wheel on and the same tire roadforced at 19.

That's one for the books. In the days of steel wheels, it was more common. Not so much anymore. But I did get a couple bad tires recently.

Gotta thank @wibornz for sending me down the rabbit hole on the Rancho 2 -3.5 lift. I haven’t seen any cons to this lift. Even with adding geo brackets and a trackbar it come in cheaper than the aev. Might even be able to convince the wife to do the re gear with the savings.
Thanks again!

I have the AEV upfit with the 37s and they put in 4:56 gearing. Ride, handling, etc are better than factory. I have had it on some tough trails with no damage to the fender from tires. (Trees, rocks, etc have scraped fenders and other parts.) If you're going to wheel hard, under body protection is key. I am prepping my Jeep for 2024 trail riding. I have no "ragrets" "regerts" or regrets.

21 Rubicon with 2.5" Dynatrack lift, 37s on BFG/AT, 2.0T on 4.10 gears. No Ragrets and after much research, comparing, and driving daily, I have decided that I do not need a re gear. Very happy so far. From what I have researched I would only gain limited fuel mileage, not enough for the cost to re gear in my opinion.

I'm running a Teraflex 3.5" lift with 37" Nitto Trail Grapplers, and mine drives like it was stock. I DD it every day and manage high 18s for MPGs. I did regear to 5:38 after talking to the guys at Yukon, and I don't regret it. I've wheeled Moab, Deadwood, and around Blanding, UT, and it's done everything my driving skills allowed. ;) Plus, it looks freakin' awesome in the parking lot!
