I somewhat regret going 37s. That's only because the Jeep drives like crap now. I installed a Clayton Overland+ 2.5" and 37" Wildpeak AT3Ws on Icon Rebound rims. I get a lot of shimmy in the steering wheel and I've spend well over $1000 on alignments and troubleshooting for everyone to just come back and say, "it looks good, pay us!" or "your Jeep drives better than mine!"

If I could actually get the thing to drive well and the steering wheel to stop shaking like Shakira's hips, I would love my Jeep again, just like I loved it stock.

I just ordered the adjustable Fox Race steering stabilizer, installing it this weekend. Hoping that helps resolve my issue. I really think it's a bad tire/rim pairing but I cannot find anyone to trade me 37s for a day to confirm and I'm sure the heck not rich to just go out and spend $4000 on new rims and tires just to troubleshoot something.
I have Clayton 2.5, with Falcon 3.3 and Falcon Stabilizer, on 35's and she drives like a dream. Sounds like you need to look at your tires and wheel combo... or possibly a sector shaft brace.

Service departments are so hit or miss man, but good ones do exist. I just took my Jeep in this week to have the ECH replaced and it was covered without question, though I'm fully aware they won't cover the suspension parts I've replaced. Makes sense to me and wasn't enough reason not to do it.

As for gears, I'm not overly convinced that they're needed with the torque the 4xe battery provides. Having spent a lot of time above 10,000 feet in this thing over the past two years, I haven't really found myself pining for more. BUT...if I ever were to re-gear, it would likely be 4.88.

Here's a pic of the lift after I installed it with Baja Boss M/Ts (it's a bit too clean in the photo):

I've got 39's on 3.73's on our sahara 4xe and it wants for nothing in terms of torque or HP. Still pulls like a freight train, and has way more get up and go than my 3.6 JT with 5.13's on 37's. Personally would not spend my money on a re-gear for the 4xe as it just doesnt need it IMO.

Nah, but only because it would have been extremely boring for everyone at the slow pace I’ve been upgrading the Jeep. In the past, I would grab everything at once and install.

My strategy with the 4xe has been to research the heck out an item I’m interested in, determine if it’s even needed, order/install, then evaluate its performance for a while before dropping coin on the next thing. When it becomes apparent there are areas needing improvement, I’ve had a much easier time identifying them.

For instance, I’ve been running the stock tie rod and drag link for 19,000 miles, 6,000+ on 37s. IMO, the heavy tires have accelerated the wear of the ball joints based on the slop they had. So…Black Friday came around and I grabbed an upgrade I had been eyeing all year.

Rusty’s Aluminum HD Steering Kit. Love their stuff!

Are you running 2.5 inch lift with aluminum steering, fox ats and the Jks trackbar? If so how are you not having contact issues underneath I’ve seen aluminum really only work on 3.5 and higher. Other than the aluminum steering that’s my exact setup on 2.5 lift and everythings tight as it is I couldn’t imagine thicker TR & DL.

We’re running stock gear ratios in our 2020 JL Rubicon with an additional 2.5” lift, stock rims with 1.75” spacers and have zero regrets going with 37x12.5 AT’s.

I have 37” KO2’s with a Mopar 2” lift on a JLUR diesel. I have about 9 badges of honor but mostly it’s a daily driver. I am really happy with the ride. I was worried it would be rough or bouncy but frankly it’s fabulous as a daily driver. I have done quite a few class 6 trails in Moab and several others in Colorado (Metal Masher, Poison Spider, Engineer’s Pass, etcetera). I have a little over 30k miles and I’m pretty happy.

For 2.5 lift and 37’s how much bump is everyone running? (Several factors that'll cause variation I know I know) I have 2.5 lift with 35’s and 2 inch bumps, I still have a little over an inch till my tire touches fender but my shocks are 1/2 inch from bottoming out so 2 inch bumps are perfect.

if your steering wheel shimmy is speed related (between 45 - 60 mph) you need to get your tires balanced properly that’s all
While balance may be off its the camber that need to be checked for wandering. Make sure ay 6-7 degrees or will wander. Typically if non-adjustable arms and a lift will be the cause.

As for regrets -- I ran 37's/4.10 for 3 years and now on 39's/4.10 for the past year and still no "ragrats". The 8 speed transmission makes all the difference. It was setup for rock crawling while driving to/from the trails.

If stuff isn’t rubbing then you have them. Just curious,
Yep, no rubbing and the suspension has been fled on the last several trails. Love this beast. I guess AEV must make the bumpstops then.

you meant Caster when you said “Camber”, right?

i had a simular problem with my xj way back when. a psc hydro assist solved that problem.

First, I’m FAR from an expert. I had a JTR with 4.88s and put 37’s and a Skyjacker 2.5”/1.5” leveling lift on it to accommodate them. After tons of reading, that seemed to be a viable inexpensive option, without replacing a ton of other stuff. I did put the money into Fuel wheels and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires. I don’t rock crawl here in Northern Michigan, but I do spend a lot of time on rough sand trails. I drove the JTR for about 2 years with those mods and then traded for a JLR with 4.10s. Did roughly the same mods (2.5”Skyjacker lift, 37’s) to this one. I do notice a little less power, and find myself in 6th gear on the highway unless I shift. But - I don’t regret it and love the extra clearance and the look! Eventually I may do more, but for now I am very happy!
