Well, add me to the club. Found this when trying to reseat the rear passenger coil after finding it had slipped off the lower isolator (probably flexed it a bit much in Moab). Both sides are tearing off the frame.

Well geez, we told you to check it didn't we? At least it isn't an expensive fix. Hmmm ... maybe I should check my '23 JLUR before going to Moab in a couple of weeks. Yep, I'll take a look. Cheers mate.

Good lord, this thread is a crazy thing to see - looks like the issue is spanning JLUs from the last 5 or so years. Wonder if the 2 doors are susceptible...

Hmmm, no cracks after 9500 miles, but one weld does look a little light. Will start checking that area again. Thanks for posting your 2022 problems.

I’m going to have them welded back and gusseted like above. May see if they can add a cross member as well. Guess I should have the rear axle trussed while it’s out too. Also, it’s time for a regear ?

Maybe the aftermarket can make a brace or add-on crossmember....

Thats my hope too, I figure it's only a matter of time it happens again. I brought it up to AEV but would be surprised to see anything.

So, pondering this issue last night, has anybody considered that this may be a sign from God that you need to upgrade to coilovers and that any objections from your spouse is therefore blasphemy? Just a thought...

Welp….. I’m part of the club too. But interestingly enough this only happened in the last month.
I’m fixing it this week and will prob add a cross member.

My plan:

1. Grind off the factory welds and re-weld them. Weld a fat bead on the inside of the bucket/perch pad.

2. Welding in a gusset on both sides of the bucket/perch pad will provide significant strength, without a crossbar.

Hey guys ... thanks for continuing to post on this thread ... helps to know that it's a continuing problem on the newer models.

One of my buddies has a 2021 JLURD. Sent him and several other trail mates a notice that the cracking isn't only on the 2018 models. We're going to Moab next week ... and yep, his was cracked. So, he was able to fix it before heading out.

Out of curiosity, any of you folks who've had your mounts crack the welds weighed your Jeeps? Obviously the welds should've held, but curious if it's vehicle weight or something that's the big contributing factor.

I had a very limited time in the shop to get it done (yeah I could have added more welds... ). I have a couple of trips coming up so I'll keep and eye on it.
If I see any deviation in it we're going to lift the body and remake them.
We took a scan of the buckets to make them in cad, so I wont be surprised if we just go ahead and go that route anyway.
