Like others, my vote is for the Tazer JL mini if you can afford it. All the extras that come with it and I have been using the fan controller override feature when the engine temp wanted to get up into the 230 and more degree range. That's not happening anymore. RPM extreme fan controller is on the list of things to look into after my warranty expires.

It still allows it with the 7 pin one my Rubicon, but the caveat is mine did not come from the factory with the tow package, I added it later on. Perhaps there's a software difference between the tow package and non tow package to allow for tow mode when a trailer connection is detected?
If it is a thing, I would think it's handled by the CANBUS.

My personal opinion, best one is the cheapest one, therefore removing the hood plunger on the left when you're facing your front window from the grill, is free and easy, therefore the best!

Only downside which might annoy you is your Jeep will remind you every 2 minutes that the hood is open, but beyond that. Not too bad.

A good second option is if you have the tow package, you can plug a LED brake and reverse light into the tow hitch section, plug it into the tow hitch plug, and it will enable tow mode which also disables your auto start stop. The benefit of this one is that your Jeep will look cooler and you'll have brighter backup lights. The downside being that you're in tow mode so you're probably going to get less efficient fuel economy.

I guess if you wanted to spend money, the wife and I have had good luck with the Autostop Eliminator brand that we've had her on her 2020 Subaru Forester since week two of ownership. Zero issues and we have 80,000 mi on it over 5 years.
I installed this in my Jeep and it works perfectly, switches off and stays off, switches on and stays on. PIA to install if you have larger hands but well worth the cost and the effort.

Oops, sorry, it was @Heimkehr ... You old people all look alike!
Hey...

Sure, I started to go gray at the tender age of 21 (just like Steve Martin), but...I still have all of my hair, and am still well below retirement age.

So...nyah! 🤪

Ok, it's a done deal. I contacted Steve, owner of SmartStopStart and he gave me a forum deal.

Just to let everyone know...

I read this in an earlier 2 posts in this thread...

"My understanding is plugging into the tow hitch plug will disable auto start stop and put you into tow mode. Which gives you more low end torque than the normal standard driving modes, and will affect you or MPGs and shift points "

The quoted info above is not correct. Reality is, there is no "tow mode" and also plugging in something into the 4 or 7 pin connector does not "disable auto stop start".

In 2018 myself and a couple of other JL forum member's tested this.... and again, you cannot disable stop / start by plugging in something into JL's 4 or 7 pin connector.

I encourage those that want to by a device to deal with Stop/Start to buy a SmartStopStart unit from forum sponsor Steve .... @SmartStopStart.com . Message him and ask for a forum discount and he will undoubtedly sell you his offering for $100.00 shipped. He ships fast..

What's nice about the SmartStopStart offering is that when you are done with it you will easily be able to resell it for a few $ less then what you paid for it. Try doing that with one of the knockoffs...

Also, the SmartStopStart offering never hiccups...

AND, a real big deal is that you are buying the terrific offering from a fellow JL owner... a nice guy ... who is a long long time, Forum Sponsor and not some guy in China or wherever.

Can the Autostop Eliminator and Tazer JL Mini be both installed and both operate as intended... I know the Tazer covers the feature the Autostop Eliminator is made for, but when unmarry the Tazer for dealership visits, I want to leave the Autostop Eliminator so I do not have to think about manually cancelling it...
If so possible, how to connect them, please?

What you are saying you would do/want to do makes little sense. Think about it.

ie. Any device should be removed from SGW when JL goes to dealer... Also unmarried Tazer still deals with Stop/Start.

Well, the Tazer indeed bypasses the SGW and needs to be removed (unless you have a very tolerant and friendly service/dealership), but the Autostop Eliminator claims that it does not affect the SGW in anyway, it is just an inline add-on and they say unless someone goes underneath the dash and specifically looks at the ports, having it installed is undetectable...

I've never actually bothered plugging anything into the tow hitch plug long-term. Only thing I've ever plugged in there was a tailgate turn signal light for trucks which I only plugged in long enough to see if it would actually work properly.

My understanding is plugging into the tow hitch plug will disable auto start stop and put you into tow mode. Which gives you more low end torque than the normal standard driving modes, and will affect you or MPGs and shift points. Beyond that I really don't know much about it. Definitely would be a question for the much more informed individuals in this forum who tow with their vehicles. 🤷‍♂️

Sorry I couldn't be more help on this topic.
I've seen this mentioned as well, but only that is disables start/stop. I guess it's an easy test.
