I'm about through pushing the ASS button. Half the time I forget and catch it at the first light.

Looking for an ASS eliminator. Which is best and why?

I've no complaints with the harness that matches the thread title. It was the second item that I installed on the day I drove my new JLU home from the dealer. I knew after just one test drive that I wanted to disable ESS in the most efficient manner possible.

Flawless functioning, and the same price as it was in Sept. 2020.

None... but it pays well.
For simplicy... the harness. I have one and was a first thing to do. Soon after I added a Tazer JL Mini. They both work together without issues. I did not remove the harness in case I ever need to remove the Tazer and have a Doh! moment.

Prior to having the tazer, I did this
The Tazer SGW extension harness is just two individual wiring harnesses connected together with Tesa tape. I removed the Tesa tape and used one leg of the SGW harness with the auto start stop eliminator harness and rewrapped them together into “one harness” with fuzzy Tesa tape

I did get called a nitwit for not using the other brand

That is odd my ASS disable harness plugs right into the ASS switch as a pigtail in between factory connection.

My personal opinion, best one is the cheapest one, therefore removing the hood plunger on the left when you're facing your front window from the grill, is free and easy, therefore the best!

Only downside which might annoy you is your Jeep will remind you every 2 minutes that the hood is open, but beyond that. Not too bad.

A good second option is if you have the tow package, you can plug a LED brake and reverse light into the tow hitch section, plug it into the tow hitch plug, and it will enable tow mode which also disables your auto start stop. The benefit of this one is that your Jeep will look cooler and you'll have brighter backup lights. The downside being that you're in tow mode so you're probably going to get less efficient fuel economy.

I guess if you wanted to spend money, the wife and I have had good luck with the Autostop Eliminator brand that we've had her on her 2020 Subaru Forester since week two of ownership. Zero issues and we have 80,000 mi on it over 5 years.

I was unaware of the de facto “tow mode”. Do you know what else it does, like raise shift points, or disable V8 MDS like PU’s ? A light like my spare ring or a receiver light plugged in would have cost little or virtually nothing.

Treds,
Yeah, I thought about the hood switch, but I have that fancy remote start stuff, which I like and occasionally use in the summer heat, and as you're probably aware, it kills the remote start. I don't have the tow pkg. So, I'm kinda in the middle.

I too have this one. Second time I've purchased for two different vehicles. Never looked back.

I don’t know if it’s the best but I have the AutoStop Eliminator in my 24, it’s a simple plug and play. It doesn’t make any changes to the vehicle, it just remembers the position of the switch, if ESS is turned off it stays off unless you turn it back on. No multi function menus and no pairing. If you want to remove it just unplug it.
It’s been over a year and 0 issues.

I use a Tazr JL Mini in my 2-door. It has done everything I need it to do, including reprogramming axle gear ratio, tire size, LED taillights, and shutting off the auto start/stop feature.

Tazer gets my vote, and ESS isn't even in the top 3 reasons I'd never own a Rubicon without one. Sway bar disconnect at any speed even in 2wd is number 1. Front locker even in 4hi independent of rear is number 2. Rear locker in 2HI or even 2wd (who doesn't like doing donuts in the snow) is number 3. Reprogramming for tire size would be 4. Remembering to leave both traction control and ESS off would be 5. 48k miles and I never have to touch those buttons.

I just either leave my a/c or heater on and mine never shuts down at stops...
