Always finance the extended warranty during signing then cancle in 1 month. At 1 month prior go back in and get the extended they will give same deal if not better.
Iā€™ve read this multiple times and donā€™t understand. Maybe itā€™s just me. Can you explain?

Yeah not sure what that is so not just you. You still pay whatever interest it would have cost over the life of the loan. I don't know.

Tom is great, I purchased warranties from him on multiple vehicles and heā€™s always offered the lowest price and great service!

Agreed! Nothing against anyone who purchased an extended warranty from their dealership at time of purchase, as I know some do offer good deals on them, but I would much rather shop around before purchasing something on the spot when I know they mark up all those add ons so that the dealership can make that extra cash! But the statement of cancel a month in and then get it a month prior šŸ¤ÆšŸ¤ÆšŸ¤Æ the only way they give you the same deal or better is cause they overcharged on the policy in the first place so they have wiggle room to play, aside never finance something that you can easily charge on a CC with a 0% apr promotion and pay no interest on it for like 12/18 months šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

@TaiMc I read in another thread about your engine got replaced under MVP plan. Did you had any kind of mods on this Jeep and how was your experience at dealer or Jeep rep? Thanks.

I already bought the plan but I am planning to go to Jeep dealerships around me and ask if they still cover the non modified parts or unrelated parts in case of a modification. I am sure I will get a lift and it won't be Mopar. I don't want to pay for something if it will be denied if I use it. I also don't want to go to the pain of converting the jeep to stock if the engine or cooling system fails to take it to the shop.
And if they don't cover it on MVP, I will gladly get my money back and put that to buying a lift.

As far as I can read the details on MVP. they say they will cover if the failure is not direct result of modification but they can say lift caused extra strain on transmission which in turn failed the engine.. I don't want the plan to cover basic electronics. I am mainly in it in that rare case of a engine, transmission or transfer case failure.

Hello! And Yes.

I had the following modifications installed on my sport jeep prior to having engine trouble : lift kit w/2.5inch spacer (rough country-non mopar); rubicon springs (mopar); 34.5inch tires (not stock with sport); side steps (mopar); Rubicon steel front bumper (mopar); aluminum rear bumper (rival- non mopar).

The dealership gave me zero trouble with my modifications. They didnā€™t even question itā€¦they never brought it to my attention and it didnā€™t delay the approval from corporate. What took a long time was having the adjuster come out to look at the block to see how damaged it was and the installation of the engine.

The dealership already had the new motor there so they didnā€™t have to wait to have it shipped (it was there b4 i brought my jeep in). Their engine specialist spoke to me on the phone and told me this was not the first time he had seen this problem, and quickly rattled off that the block could not be saved and that the only solution was a new engine. Iā€™m assuming this is one reason they had new motor sitting there already. Againā€¦Iā€™m assuming.

I paid $100 deductible for my new block, and wash/detail under my mopar added care plus warranty.

DEFINITELY establish a good relationship with a dealership and ask their service manager about the mods you plan to haveā€¦so that they can tell you whether or not it would void the warranty. Dealerships have massive influence with corporate as I found out. The adjuster from mopar took a look at my blockā€¦IDK if he saw my modded jeep or not. It isnā€™t clear whether corporate would deny a warranty engine claim if the engine comes out of a modified jeep IF the dealership is in favor of honoring the warranty. I just know that my claim was approved. But again, this couldā€™ve been because of the way my block was displayedā€¦maybe corporate never asked to see which jeep the block came out of. Maybe the service manager was just the bomb and she knew how to work the system to avoid any delays on getting it approved? Maybe corporate doesnā€™t care and will follow the suggestion of a good/trusted dealership.

Lots of variables at play here. I can only recommend that you align yourself with a trusted legitimate dealership who has the best reviews regarding their service department. Without the support of a good service department, you likely will be at a disadvantage.

sorry for the novel, but hope it helps in some way.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I'm glad that it worked out for you and that's how it should be done. What got me worried is the language the Jeep customer care people told me "any lift other than Mopar void warranty and all.." and someone told here MVP is not a warranty and all depends on corporate not the dealer.. but definitely doing some dealer visits and see what they say.. before the 60 day full refund expires šŸ˜ƒ

I bought locally from a dealer - Mall of GA, Buford and they have an in house mod shop and all. I am almost sure if I do my lift there, I might be ok. but they don't have the brands I am looking for.. But paying a visit around will give an idea.. āœŒ
